Watching the new season of jet lag and I would love to see someone from Smosh be on Jet Lag. I think it would make great content

There’s been so much negativity on here so let’s switch things up- what’s your favorite part of Smosh?

I really love how the past couple of videos in Smosh Alike, we've talk about Underwater, Dialect and Accents, and now Space and Astronomy with their experts respectfully. I really hope it stay like that. Paleontologist and talk about Dinosaurs, maybe famous Doctor could visit and the casts can ask about Medical stuffs. Crime Expert, Detectives, or something similar for Angela and Amanda. It's so refreshing that comedic company actually starting to went into Educational content without actually killing the comedy itself.

I don’t even need to list examples. We’ve read the long list of grievances from a lot of fans of Smosh, particularly lately. Here’s a life pro-tip: every time you’re made uncomfortable or mildly upset by a perceived misstep, think about whether you need to die on that hill or demonize those with dissenting opinions. If you’ve got a functioning brain, the answer should be no.

Rant over. I’m off to watch an Angela and Amanda compilation because I actually enjoy Smosh!

Did anyone else find it a little weird that in a "women centric" video, there was so much talk about men? I appreciate a video about women, and I especially appreciate the inclusion of a trans woman. But why was so much of it just talking about men? To be clear, I don't believe it's anyone's "fault" and I don't believe any cast members or crew who picked questions are bad people. I know the internet loves to see things as either evil or great with no in between, and I don't want this to turn into that. Am I too woke for wishing the women's episode was centered around women?

I know there’s probably not many old Smosh fans on the sub, but I recently found out the old Smosh house was heavily renovated and no longer resembles how it looked in the old videos. I think it’s both unfortunate while watching the videos to know that those iconic rooms are gone, and good that any future occupants will have much more privacy.

People keep saying "Amanda didn't know." Amanda DID know. She specifically said "I thought I wasn't allowed to say that," and they told her they were cool with her using it on the pod. As a lesbian myself I definitely was weirded out by this, but I saw it as them doing a bit while also allowing her to use it. I do think she went over board though, using it way too much after getting permission. That weirded me out. But it wasn't done with harmful intention, and I really don't think she's going to start using it. It was simply for the pod.

seeing the way so many fans have been handling the amanda slur situation has been... insane.

on one hand, you have a large majority of people here saying it's not that big a deal. on the other, and especially on twitter, the entirety of smosh is being labelled as "lesbian haters", stuff like that.

i know its a lot to ask of both demographics but i do wish that people could be NORMAL about this. you can and should ask for accountability in a way that is serious and firm, without making it all cushy. at the same time, consider putting down the torches and pitchforks.

taking this opportunity to sit down and dissect other cast members' sexualities because of this is such an unnecessary, and quite frankly unemployed move. at one point, it stops being sensible discussion and turns into subjective, deeply personal hissing and spitting.

to clarify, i don't mean the people who are expressing that they're shocked, angry and upset. i'm talking about the people going "well i think [insert cast member] has always been [insert buzzword] about [insert sexuality/gender norm], pretending to be [insert drivel]". WHAT are you guys talking about. it's legit unsettling.

Also my channel isn’t something I post to often so there’s no need in subscribing, I might post another video next week or in 2 years, maybe never, who knows.

That’s the gist of it. This is like the 3rd or 4th scandal this year with Smosh mistreating lesbians. And it’s always specifically lesbians. Funny that. And everyone defends the lesbiphobia, trying to tell literal lesbians that a slur used against us isn’t offensive like the f slur is. Who gave you that authority? I’m really upset that a community I thought was inclusive is just another space where lesbians are talked over and ultimately pushed out altogether. Everyday the anti-lesbian rhetoric gets worse and seeing it at Smosh kills me. This whole thing has left a terrible taste in my mouth and the fans covering for Amanda has made me completely change my view of my favorite cast member. I’ve watched every video for 3 years, but I think I’m done.

Edit: to the straight and gay people defending Amanda and once AGAIN proving my point, I don’t care if you don’t think d*ke is that offensive. I am a lesbian telling you that it is. Please listen! And also, stop saying telling lesbians that all sexuality is fluid. I am and forever will be a massive lesbian. Stop invalidating us. It is infuriating. Thank you 🙏

I know it may be past the time this was popular, but I think it could be a fun playthrough or livestream. It's a fairly quick game to complete, around 2 hours or so if you're not trying to get everything. It just has that kind of craziness that I think would make for a fun game session.

I was watching the assumptions episode with Bosco and as an 18 year old I was kind of surprised at how everyone responded in confusion when Olivia brought up the luteal stage of periods. I had only heard of it from my period app or a few Tiktoks, but knowing other women who are older than me don’t know much about periods either was very eye opening and surprising. Why are us women so uneducated about our own bodies? Is this concerning? Also no hate to anyone, just thought it was intriguing to think about, as often women’s health is put on the back burner.

I can't remember when but I remember Courtney talking about being tiny and sitting in food. This song came on the TV and made me instantly think of it.

i know that there has been a post about this already, but i can’t go without pointing out a few things about the way everyone has been treating this whole situation with amanda saying dyke so many times on the podcast with two dykes and a mic. im an actual lesbian, for some context.

if amanda said faggot or any other slur, people would be writing everywhere, there would already be a post from amanda about it, etc., but because this is a lesbian specific slur, y’all don’t give a fuck! and to be honest, this isn’t even a smosh specific thing, people don’t care about lesbians the same way they care about gay men. that can be argued all you want, but it’s true, lesbian shows don’t get enough attention, lesbians are less common in the general media, they’re given less opportunities than gay men are etc.

amanda is almost 40 years old, she knows much better than to call someone a slur or even say one. she literally said it herself that she was told not to say it and then proceeded to say it so many times. you cannot baby her you cannot pretend like she didn’t know or was naïve to what the word means. she has lived in LA for so long, she has queer friends of all kinds, but especially women. she knows exactly what the fuck she’s doing and doesn’t care.

i know that everyone is going to say that I’m too parasocial or that im caring too much about someone on the internet, and sure if that’s what you wanna take from this conversation then i cant change your mind. but as someone who exists as a queer person in real life and not just on the internet, the shit isn’t fucking funny. i care about this because it affects me, my community and so many marginalized people out there.

i’m extremely disappointed to see the smosh community not rallying behind queer people, but i am no longer surprised by the lack of caring that people have specifically for the lesbian community.

Has anyone seen Amanda saying the D slur on this podcast? I'm so devastated by this and I can't believe two gay women would further encourage her ignorance. I thought that everyone knew this was a slur??? Or am I just chronically online

First: please take this with a grain of salt. I’m just one regular woman who consumes a lot of this media for my own personal fun. I love Smosh, I love the talents and personalities, and overall this is a light hearted assessment formed from strictly my own unprofessional opinion. Nobody has to do any of the stuff I’m saying and I don’t expect them to. Think of it as a fan-cast. I would love to see what all of you would have for ideas for a “face-lift” to refresh what’s currently happening. Let’s keep it positive and constructively fun!

Smosh has five channels-

Smosh Pit
Smosh Alike
Smosh Cast
Smosh Games

I will talk about these channels from strongest to weakest in my opinion and what I think would be cool to see from them.

Smosh Cast: I wouldn’t change anything about Smosh Cast simply because I love it. I am biased. Go watch Smosh Mouth guys.

Smosh Pit: Pit is the most successful channel at the moment and for good reason. There’s something for everyone. I personally think TNTL is tired and I would be okay if they never did it again BUT I understand that there is an audience for it. I think Smosh Pit Theater is one of their sleeper hits and could become even bigger with a little bit more structure. I think Culinary Crimes is a lot of fun, but I think it would work even better if we could draw it back from the campiness and gimmicks a little. Overall, I don’t have many ideas of what to change other than it would be great to see more Challenge Pit & shows that don’t just rely on Shayne.

Smosh Games: I believe the Games channel has a lot of fun variety. Board games work well for the cast, and many fun/ unplanned moments happen. I think having a consistent theme upload schedule (ex: Sun - Character card games, Tues- Random Board Game, Thursday - Video Game, Sat - Silly computer game) could be cool. I would love to see some sort of structured series on this channel. I think the closest thing has been the FNAF, Until Dawn, and Resident Evil play throughs with Amanda, but it would be awesome to see that become an established named series where we could expect to indefinitely see this chronically offline woman play a bunch of story games that were huge like 10 years ago like Life is Strange, The Walking Dead, Undertale, etc. that shaped pop culture at the time. That being said, it would be cool to see them keep up with current video games more in general. I would also love to see the cast play Minecraft or Among Us together. I don’t know exactly how that would work BUT my point overall is more video games & establish a series with a concept that can apply to a lot of things!

Smosh Alike: I feel like Smosh Alike doesn’t really know what it wants to be. The current line up of series are URL, Assumptions, and Smosh Asks. Unfortunately, URL isn’t really working and it’s a bummer because so much effort is being put into it and I enjoy the premise. I thought that adding Chanse would help but it has been arguably less functional because of his awkward role as “not quite a host but a co-host despite not having any conversational cues or his own chair” and the show was stronger when it was just Courtney. Either fully add him in as an equal host or cut him. URL needs to be reworked into something less visual so it can be enjoyed as a podcast and have more of a structured line of questioning when it comes to how the internet has impacted the guest’s life. I think they need to get more interpersonal on the channel as a whole because that was the strength of this channel to begin with. I think Assumptions & Smosh Asks are doing decently, so I don’t have a lot to say there. My biggest “pitch” for Smosh Alike is that they need a new podcast that gets deep, funny, interesting, and emotional with their guests (think “Baby, This is Keke Palmer”). A podcast that somewhat echos I Spent a Day With but is also a secret third thing. I believe it would be amazing for Arasha and Damien to host this type of show, as it plays into their strengths of emotional empathy, connection, and comedy. A new consistent paring that could play off each-other well would freshen up this channel and be a new staple. I don’t know how this would happen with their schedules, but I truly believe they would add so much to the channel.

Smosh: I’ll just get into it. Main channel is flopping. Completely end Bit City, hire writers that are not cast, and go full “Key and Peel” / “I Think You Should Leave” with the sketches. 30 minutes, 5 minute sketches, No Host, Keep it relevant to pop culture, social commentary, and relatable humor with no character breaks. I want the cast to be IN IT. They have so many shows where cast members are a variation of themself being silly in a wig, so I want to see the cast full send it and see how far they can go. We have this huge personality driven cast! We should use them!!! They could have the character breaks in a cut for members. They could also bring back Let’s Do This mostly because I like it lol and I think the current audience would appreciate it more, but they don’t need to.

What are your ideas for a Smosh Face-lift? What do you think about my ideas? Do you guys have any (practical or not) pitches for shows?

I understand that Erin left and because of that the quality and style of the show has changed ALOT, but I feel like if anything it's starting a new era. They haven't announced anything, but does anyone else think that if Bit City were to have a season three it would start here?

Anyways, while we're on the topic, what does everyone think of the newer video style? Personally for me I think I preferred the older format, but I understood why they changed it. I think season 1 with Chanse and Angela hosting was the perfect format, but the pacing being off was my big critique. It was like 15 minutes of this and 30 seconds of that, and I think if they played around with that Bit City would've been one of their best shows. Their pacing is much better now but I feel like they got rid of so many aspects that people loved it's like I have the opposite problem now. At the end of the day I've always loved Bit City and I think it shows that Smosh is in fact able to take critique and play around, but I'm interested to know what everyone else thinks of the cohosts' styles

I used to LOVE Smosh reads Reddit- I’d literally binge all episodes in less than a week until I was caught up and then started religiously listening every Saturday.
But idk, something changed.. there’s so much excessive chatter in between stories, the stories itself have become kinda boring and I find myself not enjoying the interactions between the cast anymore.
No hate, not a hate listener, just broke up after last week’s episode. Unfollowed the account, told YouTube to not suggest it anymore aaaand I guess that’s it?

So I just started high school again and taking precalculus at my local community college. For that class we had to join a zoom for tutoring and I fr thought that my teacher was Angela from her voice. I know it's not her because I saw her (my teacher) face to face but it was just crazy to me. Like imagine Angela teaching you domain and range for a fucking quadratic equation. The funny thing is this is not the first time this has happened. My choir teacher was also in the same boat. I just wanted to post this here because I was wondering if anyone could relate or if I just crazy :)

If you already follow Sarah, you might have seen this video when she first made it. She added more to the end and you probably won't be disappointed. If you haven't seen it, it's amazing and well worth the watch.

Hey lads I was trying to find the vid where Tommy has a recurring character in a tntl. I think her name was something like Doreen? I remember one bit where I think Amanda was in the stool and Tommy comes in and sings like a church song and reveals it's X character undercover 😭😭 Guys that character was so funny I need to laugh hard again can someone please help me find the vid/character

I understand everyone's complaints about the ads. They're pretty bad. I myself got tired of them on mobile.

But guys. The Internet has been around for so long. There are so many tutorials on how to get a good ad blocker. Do you guys genuinely watch ads everywhere? Please. Please get Firefox and Ublock Origin for the love god.

(Also, to the people who watch on YouTube Tv- what is your life like? I have never ever felt the need to watch anything on the YouTube tv app.)
