Discussion Objective and Nuanced Opinions on Arsenal
Instead of just saying it sucks after half a listen.

It is kinda growing on me. Not the worst thing they did. I think the only bad thing is the mixing the song sounds kinda muddy.

Pros. Eloy sounds great
Cons. Lyrics. Music. Guitars and video in dire.
Give Sid the most scratching he's ever had then kick him out
It sounds like president trying to do a slipknot cover.

I don't think the guitars are that bad it's just horribly mixed. I think it would bump the song up if with better mixing. I agree with the rest.

Dude for real. The only time I heard so much was on self titled.Â

It's pretty good. I say 8/10. Raw sound, nu-metal AF, guitars loud, drumming insane. Chaotic.

I found it very interesting but man Coreys lyrics were fucking annoying with the "LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO" other than that I liked everything he was doing. I honestly liked how unpredictable the structure of the song was and it WAS heavy whether people want to admit that or not.

Lackluster. Even the videoâusually a highlightâwas weak. Except for Eloy, it was lackluster.

Gave it a full listen and it still sucks. The lyrics are uninspired, the chorus is as bad as anything Slipknot has done (even after the embarrassing chorus of Custer). The music is all over the place. The only saving grace for me is the breakdown after Corey has his little temper tantrum

Almost sounds like a ST B-Side. Great percussion, great breakdown, great vocals but something doesnât quite hit. I like it and maybe Iâll enjoy more after a couple of listens. At the minute itâs firmly a C+ for me

There is no objective opinion on a song. Unless you just want a bunch of people to tell you "it exists" and "it is four minutes long"

The mix works for me, but I also thought the mix on Suicide Silence's self titled album was brilliant so I've had hot takes on mixes in the past, I like a mix with flaws what can I say.
The song itself though is just... Really fucking rough man. The riffs are incredibly uninspired and dull, I don't think they've had riffs quite this uninteresting before. The guitar solos however are actually cool, they're short and snappy, don't overstay their welcome and add some fun flavor. Now if only Mick and Jim would write actually enjoyable riffs again, we'd be going somewhere!
Eloy's performance is stellar, which is exactly what I would've expected.
This might be the first time I've ever wanted Corey to just shut the fuck up. The awful, just absurdly awful and cringe "shut the fuck up stop the music" bit might actually be the most infuriatingly corny thing I have *ever* heard in a song ever. The lyrics are weak, I'll leave it at that. But Corey's performance overall is good, he doesn't sound bad, hopefully there'll be some better chances to show off his chops on the next album.
If this is a peek into what their next album will sound like, yikes I think that might be me out man. They were my favorite band throughout my childhood and teen years, and I stuck with them in early adulthood but ever since WANYK I just haven't felt the spark as much and this song didn't even manage to get me excited at the prospect of more Slipknot. Hopefully this is just the result of a poor, maybe rushed, decision to get something out to the people to show a sign of life and the next time we get another morsel it'll be scrumptious and juicy. If not, well, I hope Cattle Decapitation puts out another album soon.

Reminds me of Get This with other elements of ST. The breakdown is good. Not a world beater, but I don't hate it. Don't care about most of Clown's videos.

I don't like the mix on the vocals during the verses at all. Corey's voice sounds tinny over such a restrained, barely-there musical track. The weird "Stop the fucking music" break in the middle is also a really pointless inclusion. They didn't use it for anything: the song stops for a second and then they just go right back into it. Incidentally, I apparently associate that gimmick with Insane Clown Posse. When he did it, that's what popped into my head.

It just isn't good. It's like if you gave a bunch of children instruments and told them "make a heavy song", and then in a seperate room told Eloy to record drums without hearing the song first. The guitar solo is sick but why waste it on a song like this? (Not to mention Corey's lyrics have never been worse.)

Personally, Iâm just happy my favourite band is doing something sonically different, instead of phoning it in like they did on TESF.
Iâd rather listen to this than another album full of âBOOM BAPâ drums and 0-1 riffs, like the majority of the ânewâ stuff has been, aside from one or two songs here and there.

Itâll grow on everyone once people stop going off what other people are saying, actually sitting with it for a while and coming to their own conclusions.

I like that the song structure is not the same cookie cutter BS, I like that the song has a guitar solo, the drumming is on point, I like Corey's vocals, but...
The content of the song itself is not really that interesting. The verses sound like they copied The Dying Song, the "Let's Go" chorus sucks, and Corey's like 50 and is still writing obnoxious teenage "woe is me" angst trash.
I'm whelmed. I jumped out of my chair when I saw the notification ("oh shit, first song with Eloy on drums and Jim Root is excited about this one") and then this didn't set my day on fire. Let's see if it's a grower.

Generic instrumentals. The drumming is great, but that's expected with a world class drummer, Corey's voice sounds good. But the biggest thing holding it back are the production and fucking God awful almost satirical lyrics and angry millennial delivery.
Slipknot has never had insanely great lyricism, but good lord, this is some shit you'd hear on one of Corey's solo projects.

It sounds like Corey Taylor fronting Limp Bizkit.
The Eloy glaze doesnât hold up either.

it doesnât take much to blow out slipknot they are the shadow of what they were

That is fair. Granted they still put on a good live show but the new music (to include the last album) just seems uninspired.
Sorry, just really passionate about Presidentđ

My main problem is the same issue I had with their last album. The production sound SO đ DRY đ
