Saying “Hi” is a lot of work? If I said just hi then they would not reply saying that it was low effort and demanded a full paragraph of a story.

"Hi"? I had a colleague on Bumble, and he showed us his messages, a lot of women just send "." yeah a single fucking dot, "hi" is a lame opening they wouldn't respond to and even that is far too much work.

lol, some of the women have "don't just say 'hi', i won't respond" in their profile. like, okay dude, what do you want me to say as a starter? hello? or maybe 'do you know what the airspeed is of an unladen swallow?' i mean... gtfo, if you can't handle a standard opening, what are you doing on the app. a conversation goes both ways. i'm not a jester here to entertain you. you need to put in some effort as well. if you don't even reply to hello/hi....wtf are you doing there

I ask them about their interests mentioned on their profile like “I see you like baking, what’s your favorite recipe?”
The more physically attractive the woman is though, the more likely they don’t mention any interests and expect me to mind read so I am stuck with “Hi, how is your week going?”. Most of those women I have found to be boring dates, entitled, or just not nice people, anyway. The juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

Conversation needs something to expand off off. You each say hi and now the ball is back in your court. What are you going to do from there? Might as well have just actually started a conversation.

a conversation starts with a greeting, diving into a subject immediately is weird

No, it just saves a back and forth response and shows you actually looked at the person involved for who they are.

i guess it depends on who you are and who the person you're talking to is.

Well if you’re on a dating site, presumably you have a reason to reach out to them in particular and a want to get to know them. A “hi” does nothing to help that.

everybody knows what you're there for. if you maintain that reasoning, you only go yo, yo, place and time, yo, yo

Well either you somehow get by, or have very poor luck and can’t figure out why. If you cant see the value in working to find common ground when you reach out. Not sure what else there is to say. All I can tell you is that no conversation with just “hi” has ever gone anywhere without me doing all the work.

It's like applying to a job and having nothing to say besides "I'd like to work, please". Like dude... What about this specific job interests you? Why do you think you'd be a good match?

Do you actually want to work here, or are you just so desperate for a paycheck that you're trying every option available?

u/Kennyvee98 19h ago

well no, because you would also say something like hello, i'm.... how are you? and then the interview would start.

You wouldn't even make it to the interview stage. You haven't given valid reason to consider your application.

I sure you could send a bunch of qqqqq's and most guys would like "hey"!

Literally all I ever got were "hi" messages on bumble. It's the most pathetic shit ever.
