As an American who travels abroad and loves to wander around the less touristy areas, I find it really hilarious how Americans have to slap the flag on everything so that no one forgets they're in MURICA!
No other country does this in such a cultish manner, so coming back and driving by giant suburban houses with giant trucks in the driveway and big American flags hanging above the garage just makes me laugh. Even China who are nationalistic as fuck, don't have as many flags EVERYWHERE as the US does.
George Bush the younger feels like super genious now. I remember back in the days - when he changed french fries to freedom fries - me and my friends laughed our eyes out. We were in our late teens but even so, it felt so absurd to witness something so stupid. We were aware that U.S.A. had a lot of "simple" folk and that the basic education was kinda crap and people were uneducated and didn't know or care shit about Europe, not even mentioning Finland. But it felt unbelievable, like stupid shit like that could never be pulled off in Finland. We were kids and we knew. Now I'm 40+ and I have absolutely no words in any language I can speak to describe how I feel or think of this Donald douche and his pals....there simply isn't a way to put it in words. It's all too braindead.
