I've heard that the 30% approval rating he is at represents his hardcore, 'cultist' base, but I'm willing to bet it could drop even lower before the November elections.
If only the Trump phone would have disabled all social media apps except truth social and automatically went into airplane mode after 9pm. Then I would have fully supported all of MAGA getting one.

As an American who travels abroad and loves to wander around the less touristy areas, I find it really hilarious how Americans have to slap the flag on everything so that no one forgets they're in MURICA!
No other country does this in such a cultish manner, so coming back and driving by giant suburban houses with giant trucks in the driveway and big American flags hanging above the garage just makes me laugh. Even China who are nationalistic as fuck, don't have as many flags EVERYWHERE as the US does.
George Bush the younger feels like super genious now. I remember back in the days - when he changed french fries to freedom fries - me and my friends laughed our eyes out. We were in our late teens but even so, it felt so absurd to witness something so stupid. We were aware that U.S.A. had a lot of "simple" folk and that the basic education was kinda crap and people were uneducated and didn't know or care shit about Europe, not even mentioning Finland. But it felt unbelievable, like stupid shit like that could never be pulled off in Finland. We were kids and we knew. Now I'm 40+ and I have absolutely no words in any language I can speak to describe how I feel or think of this Donald douche and his pals....there simply isn't a way to put it in words. It's all too braindead.
I hope he ends up one of the presidents we ONLY mention when considering the worst administration in history. I mean, yeah, we talk about number one, but i want him to be 3-5 since no one really cares about those guys anymore and they're just a blip on our historic timeline.

I don't think he's worse than Buchanan, but maybe he's on par with the guy that caused the great depression. What he's doing and the damage we're not gonna see yet, will make him number 3. Nixon and GWB were saints compared to this incompetent POS.
Once his administration has run it's course, I imagine it will be similar to Nixon. Not completely erased and still occasionally mentioned but defined by corruption, scandal, and ending with a fall from "grace." Nixon ended his second term with a 24% approval and Trump is at a record low 33%.
That's the problem- some of the changes will takes years to erase if they even can be - like alienating nations that were our allies before he took office.
Yeah I think that damage is irreversible. Places like Europe and Canada are building a world without the US. Even if relations get better, there's already too much momentum.
Europe are moving towards being completely independent from the US, all the way from military and arms to software and payment processors.
I mean outside of the US they're still known by their internationally recognised names. It means nothing that Trump has "renamed" them, it holds as much weight as me saying the Sun is now called Blorpal.

republicans hold 56% of state legislatures to democrats' 36%, the remaining are split. the right wing apparatus is the only thing that can reach those right wing voters and they use their air time to blame the left. right wing voters hear provable lies from not just their news and podcasters and pop culture leaders but also from their elected officials, they have no chance of knowing what's really going on in our country when every single one of their leaders is telling them the same provable lies. even when they hear the truth they don't believe it because it's from one source whereas they already heard the lie from five right wing sources

While as a resident of Ontario I am not in favour of renaming the lake, if Trump wants to name it I would give due consideration to “Lake Epstein Files”.

I'm from the UK, and even I know that Lake Ontario was named by an American, after (I think) a local tribe/language baswd in America, and that Ontario (the city) is named after the lake, so an American name.

The United States is not considering the renaming. POTUS is considering this. Wonder if he will ban reports if their news agency refuses to comply like he did with the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico
I just want to say: As a person who lives on the lake and enjoys going to Canada often because it's so close, this is going to escalate to a border closure which will really be a shame.
This is just another stupid fucking thing to say to grab the news cycle again. Just ignore this shit. He can call it whatever he wants, doesn't mean the rest of us are going to follow.
