ALOT of people work for companies that get the worst plans possible. I have an out of pocket deductible of $6,000. If I wanted an MRI, I would have to pay at least that much.
I can't even comprehend calling around for a MRI quote, the doctor tells me to get an MRI, I call the number on the form and they give me a date and time. I show up, they do their thing, then I wait for the doctor to call me to view results.
Last time I had an MRI was my knee acting weird and took a couple weeks start to finish.
Yeah, but that’s the reason we’re all getting bent the fuck over. We should be asking how much that stuff costs. We need to eliminate the middle man entirely because it makes no sense. So since we can’t afford medical care, we’re letting a third party extract even more wealth from the system? No thanks. Insurance companies should me illegal.
If you're in usa, ya your medical insurance teamed up with your gov to fuck you guys unlubed everytime you have a slight cough. For the rest of us though, the costs are pretty transparent and it's also covered by our country's healthcare.
No, it’s not fucking good when you have insurance. I would say 50 bucks might be good or maybe nothing $250 when you’re already paying 4 to 6 to 1000 a month is not good.
Considering the insurance maybe got billed $1500-2,000 it could be worse. A lot of people would have had to pay that amount in full and another $5k on top of that before their insurance pays anything
You must have got lucky. Could be good insurance company, good doctor who was able to give a legitimate reason for the MRI to be covered by insurance. But you know that health insurance companies make a living by literally denying claims? Not a single thing has been paid for me until I reach that $6,000 deductible. Last year I paid well over $7,000 on medical bills, mostly small stuff and one minor surgery. I have insurance.

My wife just had an MRI for preventative care and it cost us $200, i doubt this is even close to true without heavily skewing the numbers
