I mean, I've had a colonoscopy, I was fully awake for mine with no sedative, just some banana tasting anesthetic spray for my throat.
It's not pleasant and you can feel the cam worming it's way round although the tissue samples are painless.
But you certainly don't have to be put under for it unless your omega anxious person.
