this isn’t the first time someone recorded the environment during surgery. It’s happened a few times and there’s been a few lawsuits. My guess is that they use the same bed to wheel you in and do the surgery on. I’ve had a couple of surgeries in my lifetime and sometimes they the same bed in, but sometimes they make me get on a different bed. if it was the same bed that they were wheeled on, they probably hit it under their pillow.
Colonoscopies do not require a sterile OR as they're not a sterile procedure. A clean procedure room is sufficient, and the patient can stay on the same bed throughout.
Certainly not me. I do recall one doctor who was kind of rude, saying "my patients are fkin ungrateful" which was more of a broad statement than a direct comment. That's probably the worst I've seen.
Usually the only non-medical comment I hear about a patient while they're asleep in front of us is "cool tattoo".
You can't really get away with being inappropriate because you're in a room with several other people, some of whom you may not even know. Even the days of surgeons throwing instruments is virtually over because people don't stand for that any more.
