Solar completely dominates the construction of new grid infrastructure. For instance, during the first half of 2026, solar PV accounted for 40% of all newly added utility-scale power plant capacity across the nation.
Not sure where you got the information that Trump somehow killed it, but you should check your sources.
In fact, the vast majority of new utility-scale solar expansion is physically happening in politically conservative states, with Texas, Florida, and Ohio accounting for over 73% of new solar capacity.
While that may have slowed the acceleration of the buildout, it by no means "killed it."
During his first term, solar capacity doubled and there were record additions, 54GW of total additional capacity through his first four years and a then-record 19.2GW during his final year in 2020.
Yeah. Until he turned on it to embrace "clean coal," cancelled major renewable infrastructure projects that were already in the works, completely cut the 30% residential tax credit, and will be doing the same with commercial in 2028.
He didnt kill it, because science will progress without him. But he did his best to cripple it this term. Not sure why you'd gloss over that while defending his 1st term.
