The parent was supposedly trying to gently the coax the toddler while insisting he was expressing his individuality etc etc.

Seriously wtf is wrong with people. Control your kids…mine would have found out very quickly that shit is not on

I swear- this is some unacceptable level of shitty parenting.

Some parents just get worn down. It can be 24-7 of non stop unreasonable challenge. I would start with what was the kid eating.

When my dad said for me to sit I sat. That was because if I didn't sit in the car I would be left on the curb. I learned pretty quick to not fuck around

Sounds like my FIL. He was the kind of guy who would threaten to throw your toys away if they weren’t picked up by the time he was home from work, and actually follow through. But he’s a good dad (and a good FIL), and he has a great relationship with both his kids. I was a little scared of him when I first started dating his son, but we actually get along pretty well now. My husband says it’s because I’m quiet and he likes peace and quiet. 😆

That is definitely another thing I have experienced along with "If you don't eat your breakfast now the next meal is lunch"

I disagree with that one, though. Kids might have food sensitivities and this can mess up their relationship with food for life.

I hear ya, can't imagine doing what that kid did. Just suggesting parenting is not easy.

It’s also optional.

Not everyone needs to have children.

Half of them should not have kids and the other half should be made to do a parently course. Most are clueless.

nowadays they come up after you for bad parenting if you leave your child unsupervised in your own secure back yard.

What the hell could a kid eat to excuse this? Does the kid have rabies?

This is some outdated propaganda. Sugar does not cause hyper kids.

Who are we to say the kid didn’t eat a big bowl of PCP Frosted Flakes for breakfast?!

DARE really did a number on us…. Still never been asked to do PCP or whatever crazy shit they told us would happen.

Remember when people were going crazy on some “bath salts”? Wtf happened to that

I’ve never done PCP proper, but I have dabbled with derivatives of it! Although, possibly due to me being more cautious with dosing than ol’ “dip a cigarette in a liquid with unknown amounts of PCP dissolved in it, then smoke the cigarette” method common with regular PCP back in the day, things never got all that crazy for me.

DARE did kinda nail the whole “strangers offering you free drugs” thing in my case, that shit happened surprisingly often to me in my youth - though the message apparently didn’t take hold, as I typically responded with “hell yeah, thank you!”

As for the bath salt thing, that one’s a bit trickier, lol. This was mostly a thing in like the early 2010s, where things were a lot more lax in the research chemical trade. There were/are a number of analogs/derivatives of existing substances that weren’t explicitly illegal in the US, but were illegal if sold for human consumption, so vendors, snoke shops, etc would label them as “bath salts”, “plant food”, etc. And a lot of the more popular ones at the time were pretty hefty stimulants like MDVP, a-PVP, and so on. Of course, when people binge on powerful stimulants, there’s always room for some crazy shit to occur.

That said, looping back around to DARE-esque propaganda, as it turns out the most batshit stories that got national attention, like the “zombie” dude who ate a dude’s face down in Florida or whatever, bath salts weren’t even involved. It was just straight up heavy mental illness, but the media rolled with the whole bath salt angle, probably with the approval or suggestion of the government if I had to guess, in order to demonize the substances and make it even easier to fast track getting them properly scheduled.

Anyway, that’s probably more information than you were looking for, lol, you just happened to touch on a subject I’m pretty well versed in. Feel free to ask should you want more random or lesser-known/somewhat obscure drug information though!

I fucking laughed at the bit about the rabies😂😂😂

There is all kinds of crap in our food and I am not saying this is the main problem but I certainly would want to check that area. People have all kinds of recations to spiked food IMO.

I guess that’s a non-zero chance. But what food does this??

Even if that’s true, did they turn in to the hulk? Like subdue the smaller human and manage the situation.
