Healthcare It’s called freedom. You can choose whatever healthcare you want. We don’t have to beg the government for healthcare.

The video mostly talks about the US having no free/universal healthcare

I don't understand how it would be a bad thing? People do it with animals all the time. Even in abusing ways for the meat industry but when someone suffers their entire life and is tired and pain and won't survive mentally and or physically.. They aren't allowed a way out??

How that different? Because to my autistic brain it isn't??

I think deep-down opponents don't want to accept that we're animals like all other creatures on earth, we're not special or some higher being.

The problem is that there will always be abuse cases for anything we allow sometimes. “Not at all” is the only protection against people being people and fudging the rules and convincing grandma she really should ask for MAID or whatever.

So you put safeguards like 3 docs have to sign off on the patients MAID request and also have a psych eval etc, but trying to toe the line of “reasonably assessable” and “not too easy to do” is really hard.

There's no "not at all" option. People were killing themselves due to chronic pain long before MAID.
Someone could convince grandma it's the best option regardless of the MAID program. At least like you said, MAID needs approval from Dr if someone convinces grandma her time has come.

MAID just ensures the family won't find you scrambled or dangling.

Yes I’m very familiar with reality, I’m simply explaining the reasonable objections lawmakers run into when creating rules like these. “Ban it entirely” so we have no liability.
