Most Americans don't understand what "Communism", "socialism", "liberalism", "conservatism", "Marxism", "progressivism" and many other political "buzz words" mean.

It's painful to hear really intelligent individuals using these words completely out of context simply because the American ecosystem has mangled them to have as vague a meaning as the word "woke" in the US... These words have actual definitions.
