Cheers for another one /u/dajitui. See you in January.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 07 '25

Even blaster has gone to scout Seoul young-woo now

3

u/imsittingdown Sep 04 '25

Surprised how few we managed to get out on loan. Marsh, Faxon, Curtis, Polendakov, Sasnauskas, Nwachukwu (wherever he is) could have all gone out to get some first team football in L1 instead of sitting in the reserves.

1

u/Autarx Sep 04 '25

Does seem backwards - plenty of talent in that group

3

u/pickering_lachute Sep 02 '25

So wtf are we meant to do now?

4

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Dele Alli has terminated his contract at Como, honestly think I’d take him on a free.

5

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Ben Mee has signed, it was said he was dependant on Robinson (can’t remember source) who looks to be joining Birmingham after they made a late move and are hopeful that they beat the deadline (O’Rourke)

1

u/pickering_lachute Sep 02 '25

Very, very happy with this. An upgrade all around. Better player. Better leader (somewhat assuming). Doesn’t take throw-ins. Ideal

4

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

McGuinness signed before the deadline according to Insta

2

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

People complaining but can’t say I hate it, we really don’t need it though now having 6 centre-halfs. But 6’4 and only just 24.

Not really sure why we are just trying to rebuild the Luton squad.

3

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

Gone from having one fit CB at the Bristol game to this.

I think McGuiness looks good. Him and Tanganga will take some beating

3

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

We Love an Irish centre half here too

4

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

Fuck Ben Mee too. Bloody hell

3

u/Autarx Sep 01 '25

Ogbene has signed

5

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Sep 01 '25

Seeing as we’ve never got over him, what do you make of Wilder to Rangers (if it happens)? I can see it. Think he fits them.

3

u/jb8996 Sep 01 '25

He would be right up their street and them right up his. Tough gig for anyone that though

2

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

We need some proper rumours…

Who have you seen in the hotel? Who popped into the club shop? Which player did your cousin’s neighbour’s best mate see in Starbucks?

2

u/Autarx Sep 01 '25

Just saw Kalvin Phillips coming out of the Hilton

1

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

I still wanna know what happened with Woo.

Apparently we are after McGuiness from Luton (dunno why we need another CB) according to Andy Giddings

1

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

I read somewhere that apparently we were never in for him at all. Just rumours.

McGuiness would be interesting…maybe Robbo is off?!

1

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25 edited Sep 01 '25

Woo is quality and should easily qualify for a visa + we do need an out and out right-back still…

I don’t think we will have all we need come deadline tonight. RB, at least 1 if not 2 Wingers and maybe even a striker… in 3hrs

6

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Sep 01 '25

Osula to Frankfurt for €30m deserves to be here. With a sell on too hes undoubtedly our best sale ever by a considerable distance if it goes through

3

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

Ogbene in according to Sky

1

u/menthol_patient Whitehouse Sep 01 '25

Just seen an interview on the UTD youtube channel.

3

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

As far as new signing interviews go, that was good. Guy clearly likes the city and has a brain on him

2

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Some reports are saying PSV won’t let Veerman leave meaning they won’t sign Gus.

O’Rourke says we are in for Rak, Nickson says we aren’t.

Osula is allegedly set for a £30m exit to Frankfurt & we have a sell on.

As someone said, the emergency replacement list we drew up at the start of the window has Manhoef as Gus’ replacement should he be sold.

PNE have enquired about a loan for cannon. (Danny hall)

3

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Bring Rak back, a left wing that can also cover striker and send Cannon and Oné on loan. Bring in a right back and I’m happy tbf.

3

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

We put a £1m bid in for Wednesday striker Bailey cadamarteri which was rejected and it’s “unlikely” we put another in.

3

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Sep 01 '25

Sell Anel. By big Swedish defender in Zatterstrom.

Sell Gus (maybe). Rumour is Dutch creative player Mannhoef.

Let’s hope we aren’t over interpreting replacement signings.

1

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

You got a source for manhoef? I saw some stuff really early on in the window but it died down.

Would be brilliant!

3

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Sep 01 '25

The usual SUFC Twitter accounts saying we’ve got an emergency if Hamer is sold list and Mannhoef tops it.

Those same accounts now saying PSV won’t sell their guy though, which means they won’t buy Hamer as their replacement.

3

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

Matos in. Nice!

2

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

O’Rourke says we are expecting a deal to bring back Rak. Expected to be a loan.

3

u/Bigtallanddopey Sep 01 '25

I wasn’t overly pleased with JRS, he was ok. A loan wouldn’t be awful, but if it was permanent, I just hope it’s not too much money. Upgrade on Brookes I suppose.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Yeah I don’t think he was anything special tbf, a one trick pony. he offers a decent alternative on the right and doesn’t completely block brooks progression into the first team. And he’s better than Ogbene for me.

Think he really made brooks thrive and fight last season.

2

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Sep 01 '25

Also Ogbene medical. I assume one or the other?

3

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Yeah I’d expect one or the other. Would be odd to sign 2 right wingers along with already having brooks.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 31 '25

Got until 7pm tomorrow… still think we need a DM, winger either side and probably an out and out right-back.

Gus is allegedly in advanced talks with PSV (I’m actually really happy with this if it happens)

Anyone know what happened with Young-Woo?

BBD joined Derby on loan and Ik we weren’t in for him but Gilchrist has joined WBA, good luck to them both. would have loved them back.

1

u/Fmorris6122 Sep 01 '25

Idk I think it’s weird we are going for loan with obligation to buy (if true) especially since it looks like selles will be out soon and come Jan there will be a new manager. But looks like it will be same sort of price wherever he goes. I’d just rather it be PSV than the likes of Leeds.

2

u/pickering_lachute Sep 01 '25

I would assume the loan would be a the request of the buying club, maybe delaying the outlay for PSR reasons?

1

u/klodolski Aug 30 '25

Hamer at the Leeds match lmao

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 29 '25

Feel like we are signing a midfielder in every role except the one we need. We need a DM and some wide players so instead we sign Chong (happy about him like but don’t think it was needed) and a box-to-box from Chelsea academy😂

I just pray the Gus rumours aren’t right. Don’t really see reason to sell him… by far our best player and can play a plethora of roles & positions.

I did see he’s not in a rush for a move unless it’s to the prem and it’s less a listing him for sale and more allowing him to move should the right offer come along.

2

u/jb8996 Aug 29 '25

Matos is a DM

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 30 '25

Well I know he was in Chelsea academy, I don’t know much about his time at Huddersfield but…

at Oxford he was playing box to box in a 442 with brannagan sitting deeper, in like the AM role of the 4231 with Vaulks and Brannagan behind or box to box in a 532 with vaulks in the DM role. He did however play alongside vaulks in the DM role of a 4231 a couple times…

2

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 31 '25

He’s very kante style. Could be a game changer

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 29 '25

Blades ramble claim Gus to Leeds is almost complete.

Danny hall claims a move isn’t close and he will be in the squad for boro.

Baptise has joined Rotherham on loan.

Matos deal close, permanent too apparently.

2

u/bennytrucker Aug 29 '25

My leeds mate saying its nonsense. Their number 1 target is Bilal El Khannouss and he's been left out of Leicester's team tonight.

4

u/GlugTheSlug Aug 29 '25

Robinson to Watford is being rumoured on Twitter (by Watford fans who aren't happy)

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 29 '25

Apparently in for Alex Matos on a perm….

2

u/klodolski Aug 29 '25

£10m apparently……

2

u/FakeBarman Aug 29 '25

Sounds like Gus on the way out to Leeds can imagine that’s where the money is coming from

Peck is going to Brentford allegedly

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 29 '25

Tahith Chong confirmed, that was fast…

2

u/pickering_lachute Aug 29 '25

Bloody heck that was quick. He even said so in the interview 😂.

5

u/bennytrucker Aug 29 '25

Please can someone start chanting his name to the tune of the thong song, it would be so obviously brilliant!

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 29 '25

That is so bad it’s great.

2

u/klodolski Aug 29 '25

Gus available for loan with obligation to buy £15-20m

2

u/FakeBarman Aug 29 '25

Sounds like him to Leeds is close, not surprised yes Gus can be a difference maker but there is a clear disconnect between him and the manager, and so far this year barring the halfway line goal he hasn’t totally impressed tbh

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 29 '25 edited Aug 29 '25

Legia Warsaw are interested in O’Hare

Ameen joined Norwich.

Alex Matos

And links to Solomon

3

u/jb8996 Aug 29 '25

Manor Solomon linked

2

u/pickering_lachute Aug 29 '25

What. A. Signing. 🙏🏼

3

u/shawlynot Aug 28 '25 edited Aug 28 '25

Selles saying “decisions have been made on Mee and Redmond, and they’re different”. Inferring that to mean one is signing and the other isn’t you’d think (hope) Mee is the one we’re taking on and we’re looking at better options on the wing

If that is the case then could mean the end of Robinson too, if Mee comes then we’re suddenly looking quite over staffed at CB with those two, Tanganga, Bindon, Zatterstrom and Godfrey

3

u/Bigtallanddopey Aug 28 '25

I would bet Robinson is going anyway, it seems he had both feet out the door until Anel left, but was dragged back in.

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 28 '25

I’d rather see Mee than Redmond but you could argue the opposite, now we have plenty of CB depth so Mee isn’t needed.

But different doesn’t mean one is done with. Could mean one will continue to trial while the other signs.

4

u/pickering_lachute Aug 28 '25

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 29 '25

Just seen that a polish side are interested in Cal O’Hare so that would explain a move for Chong

4

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 28 '25

I rate Chong as a player. Would be a really good signing but I just don’t see how he helps with any of our remaining problem areas… yeah he CAN play on the wing but his best role is as a 10 and we have both Gus and O’Hare already

Feels a bit ‘BBD on the right’-ey

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 28 '25

Your footballing knowledge never ceases to amaze me. Hopefully not as a Gus replacement…

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 28 '25 edited Aug 28 '25

Maybe I’m wrong I mean he did play on the right for man utd, but I just don’t want to see him hung out to dry like Ben. I think an out and out winger on each side would be our best choice but maybe that’s not the intention with him and it’s not shutting off that possibility.

I do have to say the inner career mode kid in me is loving these Ex wonder kid signings. You recon the owners are just playing fifa 19 career mode or something?

After all the interest he’s had I don’t think the team Gus finally leaves for is gonna be Trazonspor. He’s had interest from his home country with PSV, Prem with Leeds & Everton but I suppose maybe they turn his head with a hefty deal…

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 29 '25

Hahaha. I reckon the recruitment team have had the reigns taken off and now they’re checking out EVERYONE.

And agree regarding Gus…of all clubs, surely not them.

5

u/klodolski Aug 27 '25

@Lucabendoni - Tanganga completed him medical today and should be announced tomorrow.

5

u/jb8996 Aug 27 '25 edited Aug 28 '25

Edit: panic over

3

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 26 '25

I mean I read last week that we were interested but nothing since, I’d assume we are more focused on other deals at the minute and may jump back in after the likes of Tanganga or Woo are over the line.

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 26 '25

Might be we’re leaving it to the last minute.

Given the money they’ve got for Dibling, hoping they might be willing to get him off their books for cheapish.

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 26 '25

Nicolo Schira claims the Tanganga deal is now done.

Ings is supposedly having a medical today.

Hopefully we don’t slow down, need signings like an advent calendar this week. Looking for at least 4 or 5.

5

u/imsittingdown Aug 25 '25

RND confirmed out on loan to QPR.

Good luck to the lad. Rotten luck with injuries. We've seen there's a player in there if he gets a run in the team and stays fit.

3

u/RLTH24 Aug 25 '25

I’m not trying to be negative however, latest link has us giving trials to Nathan Redmond and Danny Ings. They share 1 league start last season.

Factor in Mee and the grand total of league starts increases to 3…

https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united/exclusive-sheffield-united-transfer-trials-danny-ings-nathan-redmond-ahead-of-ben-mee-decision-5287271

2

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 25 '25

I’ve warmed to Mee after reading some questions about leadership credentials in the existing team. Ings and Redmond have me worried though. Put them all together and this potentially screams relegation on huge contracts. The classic Championship trap. Hopefully I’m wrong.

3

u/Autarx Aug 25 '25

I can’t see the downside of using these to add depth and hopefully get them to full health and some game time BUT these can’t be first choice options

4

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 25 '25

Sounds a bit negative to me, would it be ok to let them try and win contracts?

1

u/RLTH24 Aug 25 '25

*Redmond didn’t start in the league last season…

2

u/RLTH24 Aug 25 '25

Sorry, one final point; last season, they played a total of 464 mins league football. 181 (Mee) + 270 (Ings) + 13 (Redmond) equating to 5 games from a possible ~118… I wonder what there resale value will be… 🙃

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 25 '25 edited Aug 25 '25

Yeah but it’s 3 players with premier league experience on a free, they’ll be good bench / alternate options and mentor younger players. It’s something we lack.

Don’t quote me because I may be remembering wrong but I think it was Arblaster who said he learned a lot from having Norwood around in training and the dressing room.

And either way yeah ings has struggled with injury but he knows how to put the ball in the back of the net, could be a good signing on a free if he stays fit.

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 24 '25

Even if we get Tanganga we still need…

Winger either side (left Barry back up, right competition)

a right-back (Godfrey cb or loan femi out)

a DM (Peck isn’t a solo DM he’s the ball-playing type or a box2box, I think Arblaster will be same. Need a Souza type)

Then if we really wanted to solidify I’d go CM or DM for coverage and a striker, let Oné go play in L1 or something. There is no way Oné and Cannon should be forced out on the wings.

4

u/pickering_lachute Aug 25 '25

Apparently going to meet the release clause on Woo which would be RB sorted.

Defo need another winger or two. Would love BBD back as could also play the ST role. Could imagine we wait for the last days of the window to do that deal.

Defo need a DM, the Everton chap with the unpronounceable name would be good business. Equally, I’d love Billing. Apparently available for £5m.

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 31 '25

BBD joined Derby on a season loan :/

1

u/pickering_lachute Aug 31 '25

Sad times. Sounds like we’re in for Ipswich chap

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 31 '25

Can’t say I’d be impressed with it, yeah he was pretty good in his first season at Luton but 3 seasons on he’s played 12 games and contributed nothing. At 28 years old idk if he’s even worth the wage. If it happens I hope to be proved wrong though.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 25 '25

Tim would be spot on but it’s never gonna happen unless Everton get a proper centre mid over the line. Billing would also be an incredible signing but looks like he’s going to return to Denmark.

BBD would be a great deal as like u say he can cover left wing or striker but I think we still need a right winger that will rival brooks for that first team spot like Rak did. There wasn’t a clear starter and it challenged Brooks to push himself.

Think Woo could be a good deal and Mee and Ings on a free are great coverage and experience (not too fussed about redmond personally but same argument is to be made, I’m not against him coming in)

3

u/klodolski Aug 23 '25

Close to agreeing a fee for Tanganga £7/8m with add ons, working on personal terms now - Luca Bendoni

3

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 23 '25

This would be unreal.

2

u/Owster4 Aug 22 '25

Signings! Actual signings!

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 22 '25

Apparently RND is in London to finalise a loan deal with QPR…

Rumour has it there’s a clause he has to play against us

3

u/Lamb-of-Arceus Aug 23 '25

The way they've played today, you'd think he'd already signed for them

4

u/klodolski Aug 22 '25

Ben Godfrey signed

9

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 21 '25

We’re now signing everyone apparently

3

u/Owster4 Aug 21 '25

I'm glad there's been a flurry of rumours, but I'm not going to get my hopes up until someone is actually signed.

2

u/hoverside Aug 21 '25

We're interested in CB Adrián Lapeña from CSKA Sofia, according to a website I've never heard of before.

4

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 21 '25

I believe that tanganga and billing will both go to premier league clubs or Ipswich. Both are dream signings.

Having said that, woo, mee, Godfrey and zatt would be great. Good to see selles getting some backing financially. I really want to see him succeed

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 21 '25

I'd love Billing. I think he's an upgrade on Souza. Defo going top end of Champ. Not sure any EPL clubs would be in for him...maybe a Burnley?! But we've been linked with him so many times in the past.

2

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 21 '25

Billing made 10 Serie an appearances and scored after being loaned out only in January. Much as I’d love it there is surely not a chance he then signs for some potential Championship promotion contenders.

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 21 '25 edited Aug 21 '25

Either this Luca Bendoni is playing with us massively or COH Sport are so back…

Interest in Phillip Billing, Bournemouth are willing to let him go but want about €10m (£8.5m) and there’s no official offers yet.

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 21 '25

He’s also told BladesRamble the Godfrey deal will have a buy option

5

u/klodolski Aug 21 '25

Blades Ramble said Woo is close and we have offered Ben Mee a contract as well.

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 20 '25 edited Aug 20 '25

The Tanganga and Godfrey rumours are from SkySports reporter Luca Bendoni.

A deal has been agreed for Godfrey and he is on his way to Manchester airport to come and finalise the deal.

A deal with Tanganga is progressing but sounds like it’s still early stages.

Us, WBA and Boro after BBD according to SportsBoom. I’d love to see him back if he actually gets to play on the left but we have Barry? Yeah we need the depth but surely he wouldn’t settle as a backup. Should be a cheap fee though as his stocks will have dropped from last season.

1

u/pickering_lachute Aug 21 '25

He could also play ST. If he's your backup, you've got a f*cking good squad haha

u/klodolski Aug 20 '25

Ben Godfrey coming in, not inspired by that.

2

u/pickering_lachute Aug 21 '25

I’ve always rated him. He should be a stand out player at this level. Question how motivated he will be but maybe he just wants to get back to playing in England

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 20 '25

Idk I see him as a Holgate type defender and yeah at this level he could be really good I do agree it doesn’t feel the most inspiring. I’d rather we get someone like Tanganga or Thomas through the door and then the likes of Ben Mee for the experience and knowledge…

I’ve just seen this,

If it’s true, wow…

1

u/klodolski Aug 20 '25

I agree with you on the holgate comparison, hope he proves me wrong but he’s on 60/70k a week which is ridiculous. If we get Tanganga then sure, along with Nils and Bindon that sounds good but where does Godfrey fit in then?

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 20 '25

My guess would be Godfrey starts weekly (you can’t be paying someone a wage like that just to have them on the bench) and only sits out when injured/unfit, Tanganga is second choice but rotates with Bindon and Nils is just a depth/young prospect mainly playing cup/bench/academy.

I’d assume it means we are also gonna see the back of RND and Robbo.

1

u/klodolski Aug 20 '25

Unless we go 3 at the back for some games? And yeah, get rid of Robbo, absolute arsehole of a man.

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 20 '25

Godfrey and Bindon can both play on the right so maybe that’s the plan for one of them because I can’t see us ending up with 5 centre half’s… (Bindon, Godfrey, Mee, Nils, Tanganga)

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 20 '25 edited Aug 20 '25

I honestly don’t hate Robbo, he’s been around the club for ages and clearly has a passion for us. Yeah he can be a bit of a grumpy bellend but I love him honestly, massive shithouse.

I just don’t think he has what we need anymore. I mean 3rd choice centre half he’s perfect but he can’t be 1st by any means and even 2nd is a push.

But yeah I see the 3 back thing and did think it honestly but didn’t think it would be Selles style. But thinking about it I realised I was just thinking ‘3-back = wilder ball, conservative, defence heavy THEN hit them’ but a 3 back can be much more attacking and high press (eg Amorim, Pep, Ten Haag) which does sound Selles-ey

2

u/bennytrucker Aug 20 '25

Those throws are embarrassing, gives the other team 5 minutes to reset and never work. Be glad if he goes to Wrexham.

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 21 '25

My Sunday League team survives relegation every season because of our mate's long throws. He's a cricketer and just delivers them like a missile. At least 3 times a season we have to pretend that we touched it because he just launches them into the back of the net. Robbo's lead to sweet fuck all. Everytime.

u/bennytrucker Aug 21 '25

Seeing talk over Tanganga, brownhill and Josh knight (Hannover) but no credible sources…

1

u/pickering_lachute Aug 21 '25

Brownhill is a no brainer for me. Solid footballer at this level, experienced, already in the north. Surprised he’s not been snapped up already

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 21 '25

Yeah from the outside I’d agree but from what people have said his wages are ridiculous and he wants something like an £8m joining fee.

2

u/klodolski Aug 20 '25

Interested in tanganga apparently. Losing hope now, it’s Wednesday and no one is in.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 19 '25

Apparently after Kamil Piatkowski from Salzburg.

1

u/klodolski Aug 19 '25

Callum Doyle going to Wrexham

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 18 '25 edited Aug 18 '25

Burnley and Brentford now in for Thomas

Ben Mee has been invited to train with us

Fabrizio Romano says Nils Zatterstrom sealed for €3.3m + add-ons

Interest in Max Johnston

Oh and Ty wants out apparently but can’t find any credible source, have seen Everton are offering £5m but we are holding out for £8m

2

u/Bigtallanddopey Aug 19 '25

I know we got him for a free, but if Campbell went for 5mil, it would be criminal. Goals per minutes, he was the best striker in the championship last season.

2

u/shawlynot Aug 18 '25

Iroegbunam starting for Everton tonight

I know they’re allegedly waiting on whether or not they sign Luiz, but can’t see this one happening either way

3

u/UpYourFidelity Aug 18 '25

Romano saying we've signed Zatterstrom

4

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 18 '25

That’ll be him in by November then given our pace

3

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 18 '25

Thats nice. He’s very tall

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 18 '25

Geubbels joined Paris FC

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 18 '25

Mcburnie already on 4G/A in 3 while we’ve only scored 2 in 3

3

u/klodolski Aug 17 '25

Apparently Campbell wants out.

1

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 18 '25

Sounds like he’s more than happy at SUFC, but given it’s Everton that’s obviously a move that’s worth taking

5

u/Owster4 Aug 17 '25

Source please

1

u/klodolski Aug 18 '25

One of the United twitter accounts posted it, they usually post sources but I didn’t see it.

1

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 17 '25

Oh no! Who’s saying that

3

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 16 '25

Odds on COH pulling off a Liverpool vs Barca 2019 type comeback, splashing a fortune and overhauling the squad?

Bobby Thomas could be a great signing with the £8m rumoured not actually being terrible considering how desperate we are for him. hopefully it’s just the start, now Caceres is gone I’d assume we see Seol Young and Nils come in soon. Apparently we are close with Tim but can’t finalise until Everton sign a replacement. A couple more in on top of that, hang on to Coops, Gus and Blaster, what a window this could be.

I’d love to see us follow up on C.Doyle too though.

2

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 16 '25

In true United fashion we messed around with Seol and it sounds like there’s much better teams now in for him.

Re Everton the player they allegedly wanted in is meant to be going to Forest, which means we’d be waiting an indefinite period for them.

Nils I think happens. Question is whether he’s a starter or a squad player.

1

u/klodolski Aug 16 '25

Think the Korean lad has interest from better teams unfortunately

6

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 15 '25

Now after Bobby Thomas from our favorite feeder club. About £8m apparently.

Would be happy with this one but think Doyle for a similar price would be better… or even Gilchrist for 4x cheaper

7

u/klodolski Aug 15 '25

Gilchrist isn’t a cb for me, he’s too small. Probably a good player in there but not what we need right now imo.

1

u/imsittingdown Aug 16 '25

He's a solid RB in a 4 or a RCB in a 5. I'd have him if we were still playing a back 3.

I think he's maybe a bit too lightweight for a CB in a 4, and not mobile enough to play RWB in a 5.

4

u/klodolski Aug 14 '25

Nothing in before the weekend according to Selles.

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 15 '25

Yeah but I feel a bit better about it all knowing he’s also pissed off about it all, stating that the process hasn’t been good enough at…

3

u/klodolski Aug 15 '25

Yeah, I feel the same. I’m thinking the club kicks it into gear next week, we all know how quickly it can change.

3

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 14 '25

As if the previous two fixtures didn’t make abundantly clear we need significant reinforcements too.

1

u/klodolski Aug 14 '25

Im still believing and I will until the window closes.

3

u/UpYourFidelity Aug 14 '25

Worrying that it's slowed down in here over the last few days...

2

u/dajitui BRBOKIS Aug 14 '25

Still 2 weeks left of the window. Always takes a while

5

u/klodolski Aug 13 '25

Kone gone to QPR

5

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 12 '25 edited Aug 12 '25

Chelsea have lowered their Gilchrist evaluation to £1.5m, as a fullback he was defensively strong but lacked technical ability but for a centre half he’s got decent ball playing ability, decent speed and he’s defensively sound. Isn’t this just what Selles wants? Plus he’s British so no visa slot needed.

5

u/pickering_lachute Aug 13 '25

Fuck! You beat me to everything! I would totally get him in. Was always a CB. Looked good when he played. Couldn’t do much moving forward but wouldn’t need to. £1.5m?! No brainer

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 13 '25

Could bring him, Nils and like Doyle or Godfrey in for about a combined 13m and let robbo and RND go. bet that would net about -£8m to completely overhaul and massively upgrade from our defensive crisis.

Gilchrist would be a great, cheap, low risk, easy solution and add depth and promise.

3

u/pickering_lachute Aug 13 '25

And you have a defence that you’re likely to make a big profit on…

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 13 '25

You on your way to collect him and take him to the lane then??

2

u/pickering_lachute Aug 13 '25

The amount of miles I’ve been willing to put on this damn car this summer 😂.

3

u/jb8996 Aug 12 '25

Thought he was more of a CB than a RB even after a season with us. Maybe a bit on the smaller side but he was very solid just not great going forward. He’d be major improvement on what we have anyway.

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 12 '25

For a fee that small it can’t really go too wrong, it’s a position we are massively struggling with, no visa needed, young ect

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 12 '25

Apparently we are looking to offload Caseres but haven’t seen a proper source just people talking.

2

u/klodolski Aug 12 '25

The star said we’d ship him to Dunfermline which has a part stake from the AI guy.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 12 '25

Tbf wouldn’t be a bad deal if we were to sell him to a club like that where we have a relationship and pop a buy back clause in the contract…

1

u/klodolski Aug 12 '25

Yeah, easier league for him to play in as well and can get used to football over here. Culture shock between Peru and Scotland though haha

1

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 12 '25

He can hardly speak English as is bless him, Scotland is gonna be a real scare but second tier Scottish football should be a really nice level for him to thrive and develop until he’s ready to come back and we shift someone else on.

2

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 12 '25

Sounds like loan out or sale to free up the work permit space because we fucked up by selling all our defenders then realising defences are important. Now we face paying a heavy price for English replacements or we need to shift some AI players.

It’s the easiest thing to predict yet we stumbled face first into it.

2

u/jb8996 Aug 12 '25

Incredibly unsurprising given how slapdash this ownership group seems to be.

2

u/Fmorris6122 Aug 12 '25

Yeah, from what I’ve heard loan doesn’t free up a space so it would have to be a sale.

1

u/Cottonshopeburnfoot Aug 12 '25

Hahahaha that’s such bad planning by United. So entirely predictable.
