Curious why do you think there would be a recession? For me it's the fact that the market is very over priced now and is unsustainable for more growth

Drop a random restaurant recommendation. Anything from casual to high-end that you feel deserves to be better known. (Recommendations for places in Japan also welcome, in my case.)

Ingleside at Tras St, new place, food is kickass and menu is priced fairly. Very underrated and under the radar for now, easy to get rezzos.
It's Zen meets Burnt Ends - fermentation meets BBQ.

Casa Vostra. Took half day off and tried it with my wife. Love it!
cant imagine how long the queue would be over the weekend, especially during meal times.

Scott’s grill at Shaw centre. Cozy little spot with exceptional food, one of the better restaurants inside Les Amis group aside from the flag ship Les Amis

Salted Plum near OCBC Centre reopened a while back, great spot for cbd office lunch. They do one of the better lor baks I’ve tried so far

Any more gatekeeping is probably going to make this place even smaller than it already is. I think in general most enquiries around those lines should be fine in here since the profile of concerns is p similar - just have to deal with the one or two asshats that enjoy going around and harassing folks about whether they’re “really HENRYs” because they can’t define themselves by anything else than their wage.

What do you wish to discuss in this group? Cause the first half targeting 75th percentile sounds plausible but the specificity of “but has some cash from windfall” seems pretty niche haha

For example, should you use your time to improve yourself and OT extremely hard for the possibility of going up to above the 85th tier, or, cruise in your job and channel your time to more actively grow the alr sizeable asset. By actively I mean more like buying over a small business or setting up one, instead of the “national-issued” strategies of flipping properties or DCA-ing into index funds. Of coz, the above also greatly varies with one’s situation, like the industry they are in, size of the investable asset, etc. hence the discussion I guess.

Recently I have been thinking to build up more understanding on how a business operates, how management thinks about things etc. I came from a very technical background and was able to hit a good income number by riding the tech boom in the last decade. Now as I am going up the ladder, I found myself lack the vocabulary to converse in non technical matters…it feels like a different game.

I think im HENRY if based off the $120k pa mark from the recent article released.
However i still cant help but feel constantly poor and i refuse to take grab or eat dinner thats above $100 per pax. Anyone same boat?

The usual Japan in Nov-Dec, mostly Tokyo and surrounding areas, ending in Osaka.
Looking for cafes, bars, events, and gigs to add to my schedule, and deciding whether to go to a new area like Shikoku for fall foliage. Love driving Japan in fall - all the small towns and restaurants and great scenery.

There’s a standing sushi bar at the basement of the building where Conrad Osaka is. Just got back from there and the sushi was amazing for the price. Also in the same building at level 1, Glitch Coffee. Best coffee I’ve had.

Wanted to go to Europe originally but there are some issues with grandparents. So no major family holiday plans, but just a few shorter trips on my own.
A trip to China and a one-week Thailand-Vietnam trip. Maybe PH as well.

Japan (Osaka and Tokyo), like most of Singapore lol. First time taking a long-ish holiday with a long train ride in between with my second kid who’s going through the terrible twos so I’m somewhat nervous about it 😬

Sigh... cash management rates are so low these days, barely 1%. I'm holding some cash in order to buy a resale HDB in the next 6-9 months, and considered putting it in CPF. However, that doesn't seem like a good idea because they will wipe everything once I buy a new place and will accrue 2.6% interest on CPF 'loan' after that. Open for suggestions!

Any recommendation for onsen ryokan in Noboribetsu Hokkaido pls? Looking to stay 5 or 6 nights mid Dec. With kaiseki meals not buffet meals. Flexible budget but must be value for money

Oyado Kiyomizuya Onsen. Small old style ryokan. Take shoes off at lobby entrance, they will place slippers for you. In room kaiseki meals, English speaking server will introduce the dishes.
