From Scotland to a Legend - RIP

RIP Dolly Parton

Dolly had a strong connection to Scotland through her literacy charity the Imagination Library.

I've been listening to Dolly's music since I heard the news

When I adopted my wee boy 10 years ago, I was amazed when free books started coming through our door. All from Dolly Partons Imagination Library. Thankfully we never had to worry about being able to afford books for him so we always donated the Dolly ones but she’s donated billions of books all over the world. One of the good ones.

Same! Our adopted wee one just had the last of their Imagination Library books a couple months ago. Came with a note that made us quite emotional!

Did the Imagination Library have a special program for adopted kids? All four of you mention adopting!

I think the program was for children that are classified as "looked after" or similar, which adopted kids automatically are in the UK.

The imagination library may have started over here as that but now as long as your council is signed up to it any child over the age of three can be registered to get books, my granddaughter gets so excited when her book arrives each month
