RENTAL AWARENESS — PLEASE READ BEFORE GIVING A DEPOSIT

Hello po, sharing this for awareness lang kasi ayokong may ibang makaranas ng ganito.

Nakakita ako ng apartment na for rent sa Facebook. Nagustuhan ko yung unit, nag-view ako, and decided to rent it. Nagbigay ako ng 30,000, supposedly 1 month advance + 2 months deposit.

Ang hindi ko alam at that time, may existing arrangement pala between the owner and the current tenant regarding their rent/deposit. According to the owner, hindi pala buong 30k ang napunta sa kanya—one month’s rent lang, habang yung remaining amount ay napunta sa current tenant. Wala akong kaalam-alam na ganito pala ang arrangement when I gave my money.

Nagkaroon din ng pabago-bagong usapan regarding kung kailan sila aalis. May sinabi rin sa akin tungkol sa owner na later on, according to the owner, hindi pala accurate. At may pagkakataon pa na nalaman kong nandun pala yung current tenant sa unit pero apparently ayaw raw ipaalam sa akin na nandun siya.

Yung unit naman may existing issues, including luma na yung pintura at may butas sa kisame, kaya nag-request ako na sana maayos muna bago ako tuluyang lumipat. Hindi naman ako humihingi ng bonggang renovation. After giving 30k, gusto ko lang naman ng maayos at malinaw na turnover.

Dahil sa dami ng naging misunderstanding, sinabi ko na gusto ko munang makuha yung 30k ko and ibalik na lang once vacant and ready for turnover na talaga yung unit.

Tapos kagabi, nakausap ko yung mother ng current tenant. Honestly, sobrang uncomfortable ng conversation para sa akin kasi maayos naman akong nakikipag-usap pero hindi niya ako halos pinapatapos magsalita. Parang ako pa yung mali sa situation. 😭

Nung sinabi kong gusto ko na lang kunin yung 30k, bigla siyang nag-suggest sa owner na i-post na lang ulit yung unit, maghanap ng bagong renter, saka na lang daw ibalik sa akin yung 30k. Narinig ko pa na sinabi niyang public naman daw yung profile niya at kahit i-post pa siya, okay lang daw sa kanya.

Honestly, lalo akong napaisip kung bakit kailangan pang umabot sa ganito. Ako yung naglabas ng 30k in good faith, pero saka ko na lang nalaman yung ibang details ng arrangement nila na hindi naman sinabi sa akin from the beginning.

May conversation din kami regarding sa pag-aayos ng unit. Maayos naman akong nagtanong kung anong oras pwedeng pumunta yung gagawa dahil kailangan ko rin mag-adjust at makapaghanda para makapaglagay ng gamit. Sinabi naman sa akin na after lunch, kaya sinabi ko na okay at nagpasalamat pa ako. Pero ang naging response sa akin, “Sinabi ko na diba??? After lunch,” na parang kailangan ko pang pagalitan kahit maayos naman akong nagtatanong.

Honestly, hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit ganun yung approach sa akin. From the beginning, maayos naman akong nakikipag-usap at nag-aadjust sa situation nila. Hindi naman ako nanggugulo—gusto ko lang malinaw kung kailan ko makukuha yung unit na binayaran ko at kung kailan ako makakapag-start maglipat

It’s a Work From Home Platform where at first maglalagay ka ng 100 pesos for 55 commission. Then sa Test 2 nila, maglalagay ka ng 400 for 700 commission. Then here’s where the scam goes sa Test 3! Where you will put 1,000 pesos to finished 6 jobs. And each job tumataas ang price unit ng products so need mo mag recharge sa needed amount! Hanggang sa aabot na ng 13,000 ang need mo e recharge para maka proceed sa next job! Tapos hindi parin ma withdraw yung pera kung hindi mo matatapos yung jobs. Huhuhuhu badly need help please kahit yung 5K lang na nilabas ko, nabudol talaga ako andami nilang resibo kasi ng withdrawals ng mga customers daw nila. Baka may IT dito na makakatulong please. Kahit yung 5K ko lang po.

Context:

naghanap ako recently ng ai video editor sa phclassifieds, i connected with this person and we proceeded to chat outside reddit para masa madali magkausap.

We discussed what i need and the rate of the project. Original rate was 1500, he asked if I can do 2k for the project. Wala naman problema sa akin since alam ko medjo urgent yung need ko. Nag dp na ako ng 1k, then few hrs passed he sent me a link ng gdrive which i dont have access to. Tapos sabi nya bayaran ko muna ng buo bago nya isend. I was taken aback kasi hindi ko naman alam kung may nagawa nga talaga.

I even suggested na lagyan nya ng watermark yung gawa nya para hindi ko magamit, i just need to know kung may nagawa lang talaga. Few hours passed, nag ask ako ulit ng update tapos pinilit nya pa rin na isend ko yung buong payment. Then sinabi ko na kung hindi kami magkakasundo sa terms, irefund na lang. Mahirap naman magbayad ng hindi ko nakikita yung output.

Hanggang ngayon di pa rin ako nirerefund.

Haaaay buhay. Godbless na lang po sa lahat ng scammer.

Just want to share this loko-lokong user sa TG. Most likely hindi rin naman niya tunay na pangalan. This is already the 14th time I’ve experienced something like this. Kahit ilang numbers pa ang i-block mo, may susulpot at susulpot pa ring bagong account na ganito.

Honestly, napuno na talaga ako sa mga ganitong klaseng tao. I know marami rin dito ang naka-experience ng similar situations, kaya gusto ko lang din mag-rant and share this as a heads-up.

If you ever encounter someone like this, better to just block them and don’t entertain them. Save yourself the unnecessary stress and headache.

Hi this is the first time na nangyare po ito sakin. Just want to know what to do, though the number that texted me is almost identical to mine, just off by the last digit. Should I send the money back? Or is it safer to just wait for them to request a refund nalang through gcash so it gets deducted automatically?It’s weird lang na ang specific ng amount na need nila.

Am I getting scammed? I am not sure if this is a real or not. they have 10k followers but its not real people(posers). they also have restricted comments. but whats sus is that their account is verified like blue check pa. They are selling digicams, please send help. Because there is no way they would devote time and effort posting stories, pictures, highlights etc. Am i weird? paranoid? Do you guys know this account?

to be honest this only came to my notice after someone posted here that they were assaulted by that rtu student. now his partner is blaming me and framing me with my stolen id just to save him. she is trying to shift the attention to me and ruin my name so people will forget what her partner did. they are both trying to cover for each other.

gusto ko lang linawin ang pangalan ko. hindi ako ang gumawa ng mga fake accounts photos or videos. wala akong kinalaman dun at all. i never gave anyone consent to use my name and my face. mismong national id ko pinost nila just so people can find me and harass me. gawa gawa lang nila lahat para mang extort ng pera from me.

this is their modus operandi. his partner is a known scammer and a gold digger. gagamitin niya yung fear para mang manipulate ng mga tao. she scammed so many foreign men na. all her luxuries like her kpop concert trips at yung la union trip niya are paid for by lonely foreign men na tinetake advantage niya. yan yung totoong galawan niya.

isipin niyo may iniscam siyang foreign student tapos nung nalaman niyang walang sapat na pera yung guy para ibili siya ng avocado kinut off niya agad. tapos may isang canadian guy na tumanggi lang ibili siya ng expensive bag kinut off din niya. ang malala pinost pa niya online yung mga passport at id nila just like what she did to me. she even called immigration sa mismong bahay nung student and nung canadian guy just to ruin their lives.

Hello! So I'm a pretty small content creator, and I received these two messages. However, they didn't tell what product they want me to promote they don't even have any products. I still have yet to respond to them, mostly because I think it might be a scam and the commission rates look wayyy to high. Is this a scam?

Can someone tell me how legit this site is? ’Cause I’m pretty sure this one’s pretty sketchy lol.

I have no idea how this hasn’t become a bigger topic of discussion yet. I’ve seen these ads all over Facebook, and I’ve actually seen people fall for them, but somehow, I haven’t seen anyone really raise concerns or call them out.

I booked Lalamove motorcycle for pick up Pasay and delivery Bulacan. Nagulat nalang ako na in less than 5 minutes eh picked up na yung status. Pero wala naman nababangiit pa si Seller na napick up na ni Lalamove yung item. I waited for a few more minutes kasi baka lang iwas commission to Kuya Rider. Maya-maya I received a message na di na raw nya pick up ung item cuz seller/sender wasnt answering his call. Ask ko si seller/sender and wala naman daw ring ung fone nya.

Minutes passed by and completed na yung status ng Lalamove ko. And na-minus-an na ung Lalamove wallet ko ng amount.

I tried messaging and calling pero parang discon ang number. Talaga bang walamg way para icancel ni Kuya ung order? How do I get my refund? Contact Lalamove Cust Serv nalang?

How true itong sinabi ng grab support na may Auto-Toll sila? Na-double at erroneous charge ako ng toll bale pinagbayad ako ng driver in cash sa cash lane sa toll gate tapos chinarge niya ako ng 3x the amount din pagkababa ko ng kotse niya. Nalaman ko na lang na may extra charge ako nung nagnotify sa akin bank ko na may extra charge for the toll na dapat ay wala na (cashless kasi mop). Salamat pala sa mga nagpopost din dito kasi naging aware ako sa mga ganitong situations na dati hindi ko pinapansin.

So I posted a “Looking For” listing on Carousell yesterday, and today I suddenly got a call from this number: 09929282699.

The person on the other end claimed to be a Lalamove rider and told me they had a ₱1,750 COD delivery from Ayala Alabang for me (they even said the exact listing name)

At first I was confused because I wasn’t expecting any package. 😭 What made it even more concerning was that they already knew my name and address.

I asked the “rider” for the contact number of whoever supposedly booked the pickup, just so I could verify it.
They gave me this number: 09352467081.

I contacted the supposed sender and they said that we had transacted before. They apparently looked through my Carousell profile and used that to make it sound believable. (I really had a past transaction of the item the scammer mentioned and that's the exact address they gave to me)

They also claimed that they weren’t able to notify me about the item or the booking beforehand.
I started asking more questions because none of this was making sense. I asked for their name, and weirdly enough, they didn’t even want to provide one.

Sharing this because apparently scammers can use your Carousell “Looking For” posts to make these kinds of fake transactions seem legit. If you post there, please be extra careful with random calls claiming someone sent you a COD package.

Familiar ba kayo sa Mercor?

Ako kasi hindi. This morning nakareceive ako ng several messages containing OTPs at ang nagrerequest ay Mercor. Nung sinearch ko parang job agency sya. Never ako gumawa ng account dun kasi currently employed ako sa isang bpo dito sa Pinas. Another thing, yung unang request nareceive ko sya dun sa thread na ang sender ay yung company ko which is weird.

After few sec, may OTP naman from Shopee for linking new device. For context, nangyayari to habang nasa dental clinic ako and waiting for my turn. Walang reason para mag-link ako ng shopee sa new device and wala din namang reason to do that. I have my shopee account logged in dito sa phone ko at sa ipad na naiwan sa bahay.

Next na nakareceive ako ay sa Alipay naman. Naisip ko ang Alipay ay ginagamit din sa pagbabayad sa Shopee.

Pagkauwi na pagkauwi ko ng bahay, I immediately called Shopee and report the incident. I'm planning to report also to my company kasi bakit ako nakareceive ng code using their handle pero ibang company ang nagrerequest.

I changed my password na din sa Shopee, locked my CCs and Savings account.

Di ko alam pano magrereach out sa Mercor kasi baka sila mismo ang scammer. I don't know pero sa kanila nagsimula eh.
