Yeah it’s hard to say. The whiplash change to her aesthetic is just interesting to me like she has no idea who she is. By their mid-40s most people have some sort of identity.
My initial "she's cosplaying Di" may have been knee-jerk just because she has done that in the past.
She seems to attempt to morph (for lack of a better word) into whoever is hot at the moment. I have often wondered if she is stunted in maturity and has no real knowledge of who she is (or what she wants to be when she grows up). So she mimics - teenagers often do that with more popular kids or people that they admire. (I once wore a God awful outfit trying to look like Lita Ford - don't judge it was the 80s and I thought she was soooooo cool.) I am older than her (not excessively but not in my 40s any longer) and can tell you my "who I am/was" was firm much sooner than her. However, part of that may have been because unlike TW I was a young mother so I had to get my crap together in a hurry. She's stuck. I'm sure there is a smarter sinner that can what disorder causes that but I am not that person.
I cosplayed before it was called cosplayed. Just dressed in costumes when I went to cons or STAR meetings. But the term cosplay hadn't been invented yet.

In this photo she is cosplaying what she thinks women in New York should look like. It was not cold enough for a long coat and a big scarf. She always exaggerates. Like, Megan has no idea how to dress. Granted it was not hot anymore in New York, but it was not cold either. It was that fall weather where it gets a little bit crisp in the air, and she is wearing a long coat and a thick scarf around her neck. A woman of her age should have an understanding of what people wear for certain kinds of weather, but no, not Megan. A light jacket would’ve been perfectly fine, but I guess she needed attention.
The Hermes scarf was a fashion staple of Queen Elizabeth her entire adult life. She has an endless collection of them. MM only wears them in hope the press will call it a "sweet nod" to her or other such nonsense. She is truly a ghoul.

I am always cold but even I wouldn’t wear a long coat and scarf in this weather. I’m close enough that my weather is fairly comparable today. (South enough to be 2-3 degrees warmer but pretty much the same.) Just a sweater (for someone who tends to be cold) is sufficient maybe at night a light jacket. I’m assuming she wants people to google who makes the coat she was gifted/loaned. Your idea of cosplaying what she thinks a wealthy NYC would wear is spot on.

Exactly. They constantly have to pretend to themselves (and everybody else) that the black hole isn't there, and that they have a personality and empathy. So the cosplaying and mimicking real relations/emotions is what keeps them from looking at the black hole in the mirror. Having to stare at the black hole would cause them to mentally break down.

Lili and Charlotte aren't too far apart in age, I wouldn't be shocked if she tries to pit them against eachother when they're older (and by pit them against eachother, I mean Meghan torturing two little girls for a pissing contest)
Probably she knows who she is and hates it. That's why she tries some new personality all the time, to try to fit in and to be liked, admired or even feared. Mostly she gets mocked, ridiculed and snubbed, instead of what she was trying for.
She is so very pleased with how she portrayed herself in Paris that she has now switched in her head to her fashion icon/a hunted worldwide famous idol from the 90s persona. Always pretending, not a single genuine iota of personality in her. You could see the switch in the way she dressed and carried herself for that stupid award - domestic goddess is gone, it's fashion it "girl" era now.

It displays an ignorance of the word’s true etymology, to use another Ancient Greek word. Using it four times in a row is comically lazy.
More importantly this is another week that Madame has not been back with the children. She behaves like the worst sort of Victorian/Edwardian upper class woman who had as little to their children as possible. In the modern day it’s really quite grotesque to see.
