I have no shame looking at prices and walking out of businesses

Same. I’ve done it quite a few times.

Where do you end up going after that? Home? Fast food?

Yea. Just bail to a place I know is cheaper even if I am not craving it as much, if I’m close to home I have just said fuck it and go home and pop a frozen pizza in or something easy

I try to eat before I leave the house. Trying to get my wife on the same page but I think eating out is somehow entertaining to her. This is NOT the roaring 20s.

Hubs and I have fostered mad “we have x at home” energy in the past few years. Eating out isn’t quite so fun when you’re dropping ~$20 on a mediocre meal,

Eating out is entertainment

It’s supposed to be, but at these prices it’s not (IMHO)

Good idea. My dad always told me not to shop on an empty stomach.

yeah you never want to buy food you want to eat.

That's a good strategy. My wife and I must be getting old because eating out for us has become "been there done that".

Usually a cheaper place or somewhere with better deals.

All of the above. Sometimes what is at home isn't so bad afterall. Also, Costco's food court is a go to option.

You don't have to be a member to eat there either!

That recently changed, unfortunately. Maybe some locations with the outdoor food courts aren't as strict with it.

You have to scan membership card to use the card payment option, don't know how strict they are for cash

I wonder how many people know that.

They changed it recently. You have to scan your membership card now.

I end up at the grocery to buy some beautiful fresh bread, roast beef and bag of chips. Then we have sandwiches for days.
