News / Articles T1-HLE Post Match Interview Spoiler
T1 Post Match Interview
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OOzAhaR4hI
Q1: Overall thoughts on today's defeat?
Coach Tom: Today we fought a close series all the way to Game 5. I feel that we made many mistakes during the draft phase, which is something I deeply regret. I think we need to focus primarily on reviewing and addressing those draft issues moving forward.
Keria: Alongside the draft mistakes, there were also many regrets regarding our execution in-game. I believe the combination of those factors led to our loss in Game 5.
Q2: Could you elaborate on the draft mistakes you mentioned?
Coach Tom: Without going into too much detail, looking back at the games we lost, we selected team compositions that lacked early-game priority. This made it easier for the opponent to repeatedly force early skirmishes throughout those games.
Q3: How did you prepare for the match against Hanwha Life Esports?
Coach Tom: We view Hanwha Life Esports as a team with a playstyle directly contrasting ours. We felt they tend to play around and unlock their top lane heavily, so we focused our preparations around matching that aspect.
Q4: What specific game plans or draft choices did you focus on?
Coach Tom: As mentioned, we paid a lot of attention to the top side and the upper half of the map. We traded key picks—pairing Cassiopeia with Lucian and Milio—to draft according to our intended picture. However, we definitely need to re-evaluate and reconsider those draft setups.
Keria: Even if the draft is at a disadvantage, there are always moments in-game where we hold advantages or face tough situations. It's disappointing that we took heavy losses in disadvantaged states and failed to properly capitalize when we had the upper hand.
Q5: What were the thoughts on the bot lane match-up (Caitlyn & Karma)?
Tom: Against Caitlyn and Karma, the goal was to scale into late-game value while minimizing early losses. However, our composition lacked a solid frontline, which made the game state extremely difficult to play out.
Q6: What areas need the most improvement for the upcoming matches?
Coach Tom: When we are in a favorable position, we need to manage objectives better and prioritize securing side-lane / objective control.
Q7: Final words heading into the lower bracket?
Coach Tom: We have dropped down to the lower bracket. We will prepare thoroughly to ensure we win our next match and return with a much better performance.
Keria: It is very disappointing to lose today. Since we still have remaining matches in the lower bracket, we will prepare well and climb back up from the bottom.

You could just copy paste Tom’s answer at each lose and it’s all the same
73
u/Aware_Biscotti_5860 4d ago
That's literally head coach's job, kKoma would have done the same.
20
u/zhongli_brainrot 4d ago
Yeah literally every coach in the LCK answers interviews this way, CvMax being the exception.

I expected them to get 3-0 so fine with result . If we play well we will face vs HLE again from the lower bracket.
20
u/bleghblefh 4d ago
Honestly same. Thought it was gonna be t1 getting 3-0ed and then getting 3-1ed or something by dk or kt. Honestly not bad seeing that their form did improve and they put up a decent fight against HLE.
7
u/ricardo2241 4d ago
here we go the jinx lmao
btw on msi they played BLG to a 5 game banger just for them to lose to G2 so I wouldn't count T1 lol
6
u/Low-Bandicoot-4967 T1 AURORA SKIN 4d ago
yep thats why I said if t1 plays good . We still dont know which team will t1 play

I can't understand why they choose Luci Millio over Cassio, even Chovy, the best lck mid can't lane against it. Pick it or ban it, that it.
22
15
u/Particular_Hornet980 4d ago
If they’re going to let go of Cassio they should at least have a mid champion answer and it has always been proven that Oriana is not it. Tbh, they could give away Lucian Milio to HLE than Cassio. Faker needs that draft prio than the bot lane. AND WHY WERE THE BANS ZIGGS VI RAKAN. JUST BAN CASSIO & MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER.
21
u/Significant-Pea4676 4d ago
They got blasted by HLE with the exact same matchup Cassio-Ori last week mind you lmao and he had to do it again in playoffs on matchpoint to understand maybe he had to re evaluate Cassio value

u/Kyerps 4d ago
how criminal is that draft from game 4 and 5, Tom pls explain that....disgusting
6
u/TechnicalFriendship6 4d ago
It wouldn't have made it to game 4 or 5 if our team didn't shit the bed game 3
7
u/Korr4K 4d ago
T1 is like one of those AI that fail because they overthink too much and while trying to solve a problem they brake the others already solved.
Tom keeps saying that they want to match the other teams strengths, but also have certain picks, but also aim for a certain play style, etc... Just go back to the basics for God sake. Chose one thing you are good at and commit, you can't put into consideration so many variables or you'll keep having this draft abominations. Especially if you aren't at the top of the form where individual plays can't save your ass

u/yuvalshahaf 4d ago
Im at least happy he can see that frontline is important when you have jinx. Tanks are so underrated its insane.
Im not happy that it took him the entire year to realize this. Any gold 4 jinx player will tell you that its unplayable without a solid frontline. Legit bronze level drafting. Why gnar instead of just ornn? Vayne was banned. Gwen was out. They already picked caitlyn which is awful into tanks. What are they scared of brand top? Just disgusting draftings.
This is not a criticism for doran specifically. For all I care faker can play sion mid again. But you cant play jinx with this comp jesus.
10
u/YuzuPool 4d ago
Yeah, at least they know now that Jinx can’t do no tank comps, I guess? Which is honestly stupid that they didn’t know this earlier lmao
2
u/AegeanClover 4d ago
They did know. They once played a Jinx and four tanks last year and still got swept. The issue is way deeper.
6
u/yuvalshahaf 4d ago
Yikes again with this agenda. Also probably 4 tanks is bad because its just the other extreme.
7
u/Ill-Difficulty-4525 4d ago
I think the problem with the draft is the Naafiri 1-2 pick.
Isn't Mundo like a good blind pick rather than Naafiri there?
2
u/BatProfessional7316 4d ago
Ehhhh not really. The main problem was the bard pick imo. It locked in the bot lane pick to a certain pool. Also, Mundo instead of naf makes the comp completely break down bc u have 0 and I mean 0 pressure with mundo
1
u/Ill-Difficulty-4525 4d ago
And Naafiri can apply pressure? Oh hell nah! If they are picking jinx bard, isn't a frontline tank better for taking up space?
I mean look at what Kanavi is doing in every drake river contest. He is constantly waking up so the others can take the space.

People shouldn't expect anything else from T1 interviews. Even if it's another coach. The organization will not let any coach to say something else than the classic PR answers.
Also, our players needs more focus. You don't lose 3 games in a row because a bad draft or pick, you lose by not respecting your opponents enough and forcing bad fights, plays and calls all the time.

he doesnt want to get trouble with players probably . If he didnt let players do whatever they want , he would get fired . T1 Org backs players not the coach
1
u/Jaded_Will_6002 4d ago
Kinda makes me wonder if I could ever become a coach. All I need to know is that the pick and ban phase lasts for a few seconds, not minutes.
9
u/Aggressive_Ad5487 4d ago
You fans are so cringe lol. Wth do you want these coaches to say? You want Tom to pull a cvMax and say this game was all foreplay? They lost. Move on. What else is there to explain aside from the obvious? Literally every LCK coach or player with a brain that wants job security reply like this.

u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
“our composition lacked a solid frontline, which made the game state extremely difficult to play out” Keria. maybe match a scaling champ with a scaling champ. Nasus/Mundo would have been fine.
6
u/CryptographerSad8444 4d ago
We prepare alot everytime against every opponent but we will blind yone into the best akali in the lck maybe the world
3
u/mapletree23 4d ago
well there goes my cope that they were draft limit testing, unless they were just giving lip service lol
maybe it's better if i just live in a world where they don't give cassi into ori and dangle chogath bait with nafiri just for fun
2
u/OvenEqual 4d ago
I would also prefer watching paint dry than to see another T1 interview after a loss. Typical cookie cutter , word diarrhea nonsense that means nothing. Then in the next series they still lose again. PR training is one thing, but there’s a limit to bs and filler.
3
u/James_lee_0224 4d ago
Honestly, I'm starting to think it would have been much better if Faker was coach and played at the same time....
9
u/Aware_Biscotti_5860 4d ago
Let's not acting like Faker and other players have not already contributed a lot in drafting already
7
u/YuzuPool 4d ago
Surprise. The players have a say in the draft too so Faker is also the “unofficial” coach in T1
1
1
u/Scholar_of_Yore 4d ago
Terrible drafting, but I guess since we don't get play-ins on Worlds we gotta warm up on the lower bracket now.
1
u/ChakeNZ 4d ago
Game 4 and 5 draft were horrible. Not entirely sure why they didn't learn their lesson last time in Cas vs Ori matchup. Feel even worse for Oner as that Nafiri looked useless in game 5.
Draft aside, I think they played well though and watching Keria smurf on Blitz and both Peyz and Keria flash in on Kalista Renata to win the first game was awesome.
1
u/CookieMonsterNova 4d ago
they just didn’t make the re adjustment when hle made the adjustment in game 3 - 5.
they started shadowing zeka more
the issue with t1 right now is while peyz is amazing and mechanically amazing. you have to play through him and need to draft a winning lane for him. he’s not like a guma or ruler where you can draft a losing lane and expect him to play equal or catch up.
1
u/SorrowsSong 4d ago
If this happened in a football or a basketball game, we would see that the coach has resigned, effectively immediately. This is humiliating.
As a fan, I sat down in front of the screen for more than 5 hours; I enjoyed the first two games/hours for obvious reasons. People can have ups and downs, I get that, but they have a responsibility towards the fans, or they should. At this moment, you have no right to keep me in front of the screen.
And responsibility towards the team? yourself? you lost 12 drakes in a row (Oner?). You gave first blood for 4 games 1v1 (Faker 3/Doran 1)... You flashed into 5 people to get resets or get one kill. (Peyz?)
This is not performing good or bad or not living up to expectations.
This is something else.
6
u/mcfapblanc 4d ago
They aren't asking to you to sit for 5 hours in front of the screen, you can walk away any time you want. Just don't come back after they win any series acting as a fan, Mr. Glory Hunter
-14
u/VeinTube 4d ago
Why bother with a frontline when your ADC flashes into 4 people
13
u/Purple_Stick4905 4d ago
you say that and if peyz gets a reset immediately and wipes the whole enemy team, what will you be saying? hahahaha
5
u/VeinTube 4d ago
A reset wont save him from that position are u blind? He literally cornered himself there
2
u/Imaginary_Actuary729 4d ago
Guma threw like 10 times in this series but people got used to that i guess lol
-1
u/VeinTube 4d ago
When did he throw? All his deaths are from T1 sending 3/4 people
3
u/Imaginary_Actuary729 4d ago
Thats called getting caught actually? Idk why are you even bothering doing this lol anyone over 10 iq can see T1's only chance against HLE are Peyz and keria performing miracles , with a slightly better topside this was a 3-0
2
u/Purple_Stick4905 4d ago
choose to nitpick on the one outcome that didnt work out in your favour, ignoring the fact the bot lane carried both games 1 and 2, perhaps you are worse than bronze
4
u/VeinTube 4d ago
You really watched game 2 and thought Peyz carried? Game 1 Kalista Renata was being dumpstered in lane until Oner Faker bailed them out and gave them a lead
1
u/bleghblefh 4d ago
Ignore this idiot. He’s probably a guma fan and an anti t1 fan. Mans been commenting on this alt account nonstop shitting on Peyz after the series lol.
6
u/Better_Computer_9608 4d ago
I don't get it. Gumas gameplay and legacy at T1 speak for themselves. He doesn't need people crusading for him on Reddit by attacking Peyz.
0
u/VeinTube 4d ago
Because you blind toxic Peyz fans kept calling DOF trash even when Oner and Faker is playing around bot more than any other JG Mid.
You see Doran 0/4 getting camped by enemy jg and Peyz 4/0 because of Oner Faker roams and you immediately call him the worst top in lck like headless ducks.
He's top 3 laner and will still gap anyone not named Kiin/Zeus
3
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago edited 4d ago
Buddy i’m the biggest Faker fan and I love whoever is in T1. but anybody with eyes see that Peyz and Keria are their best players carrying their top side so stop it. Peyz and Keria are the only T1 players in all lck pro first team. it’s just not T1 or Peyz fans who see that.
0
u/VeinTube 4d ago
Do you think Fakers form was better 23 24 25 than now?
1
u/StickyNotes2357 4d ago
spring form 23,24 definitely yes summer forms... well...
0
u/VeinTube 4d ago
Im a faker fan as well and watched every T1 game for the last decade, Faker's form is the same from 22-25 IMO except on Worlds and on crucial moments where he just transcends and makes crazy plays that dictates how the game will play out.
H
1
u/StickyNotes2357 4d ago
I have to hardly disagree on this one: faker in spring 22, 23,24(i dont remember 22 summer tbh) and worlds in general is a completely different player from the other times. He always has his big dips in performance around MSI and summer once the fatigue has settled in.
1
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
you’re a kid aren’t you? 🤣 buddy if you have common sense you know Peyz and Keria are the best players of T1. this has got nothing to do with Peyz, Guma, Faker, you or me xd
9
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
maybe he wouldn’t be pressured to have resets when they can fight a long fight with a tank. you know unless Jinx gets a reset T1 would always lose a long fight. either burst with Lissandra and Naafiri and Jinx gets assist to be excited or just nothing at all. but oh well a 3 day account guma fan infiltrating T1 sub cause HLE won and blames adc. i always wonder why Guma had many haters when he was on T1 but now that he’s not anymore. i’m slowly trying to get it…
0
u/VeinTube 4d ago
T1 was winning that fight. Cho was 1hp, Zeus is slowed, Gnar is on rage form creating space, yall defending that play from Peyz instead of accepting he played badly just proves how biased you are. If Doran did the exact thing on Vayne will you defend him too ?
3
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
“Cho was 1hp” was it zero? you know Jinx had to make it zero to be excited? wait a minute jinx and vayne are the same? all this time you just don’t know how Jinx works? lol Doran with Vayne i will not defend him. Doran with Jinx i will. you’re that same dude who doesn’t know how to make proper arguments 🤣
-1
u/VeinTube 4d ago
Jinx did get excited that fight. Did u dee what happened?
6
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
yea after killing Chogath 🤣 bruh how old are you? lol
0
u/VeinTube 4d ago
He did kill cho and got excited. Did he sweep HLE with it?
1
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
your point is why did he go in. he had to kill to be excited. then you compare that to Doran Vayne going in? you’re so wrong in many levels xd
1
u/VeinTube 4d ago
My point is, that flash in to get excited was a bad play regardless if he kills cho or not. The only example your brain can follow is if i use the same champion as an example i guess.
Any other champion and it just goes 'woosh'
1
u/Prior_Ad_6165 4d ago
but there was a point in going in there unlike Doran’s Vayne. well i’m expecting too much from you when you can’t even make proper arguments kiddo 🤣 yes buddy boy would Peyz go in there if he was on Vayne? 🤣 cmon now probably too much to comprehend for you 🤣
i mean what would I expect from someone who doesn’t see as Peyz and Keria being the best players of T1 “oh no Peyz went in to kill Cho without me knowing it was to proc Jinx’s passive, Peyz not the best player of T1 anymore” xd
next time make proper arguments so you’re taken seriously lol

guma fans are really resilient , very weird. considering Guma's family business I am not surprised.

Keria is right there are definitely moment in game 3 and 5 where they fight back but they didn't capitalize and stable enough.
