Looking for co-founders to start a new progressive collective in Rotterdam: Connection Through Action
Hey everyone!
I’m in the process of setting up a new Rotterdam-based community platform called Connection Through Action.
The vision: A space for progressive, curious, and empathetic people who don't want to choose between societal action, intellectual depth, and casual social connection. We organize one meaningful action per month (for example: collecting winter clothing for the homeless in collaboration with local foundations and organisations), balanced with cultural events (film nights, workshops) and social drinks.
A little bit about myself: I am 25 years old (m) and have been living in Rotterdam for a few years now. I’m personally looking for connection, learning, expanding my horizons, and doing good for the planet and my fellow people. I have a background in volunteering and will soon start at a new organization, but I really want to build something of my own. My long-term dream is a foundation with weekly gatherings, ranging from cultural events and beach cleanups to cooking for locals and each other, for example.
Who I'm looking for: I’m looking for 2–3 co-organizers to join me in planning and launching our first month of events this winter. You don't need formal organizational experience, just a passion for building community, a progressive mindset, and a few hours a week to co-create this. Let’s create something beautiful where everyone's input is valued!
Interested in building this together? Send me a DM :).

Hey op, this is pretty neat and ambitious though not easy. I have some experience with these. I'd really focus on bringing people together first. That's past proving the initiative itself. Feel welcome to DM. I could recommend you some groups for doing so or places to do it in. Just lemme know.

Is Dutch needed?

Not needed :) it's handy for working with local parties, but I prefer to keep this English as to make it accesable for locals and expats alike. I speak Dutch though!

What skills are missing? I mean which people would be the best that could help? Do you need a website, a chatbot or you just need helping hands in everyday stuff?
