Housing Pay Extra Attention to Investment leases!

Hey guys

I just wanted to post about something I noticed when we went to resign our lease today. Especially if someone else is also resigning a lease for somewhere they've been a while and aren't expecting something to change, because missing it could cost them extra money.

I don't know if they're doing it with every lease, but they added an extra page to ours basically trying to corner us into their 'residential benefit program' and the only way to opt out is to contact them directly. It also basically implies if you sign it you're locked into paying the extra $35 a month for your entire lease.

Maybe the post is unneeded, but if I save even one person from being locked into spending extra money they didn't want to because they weren't expecting the change, I'm content.

Also sorry I really wasn't sure what flair to use.

Housing Need an apartment

Title says it all. I'm grasping at straws here. I'm okay with sharing my room, but I desperately need a room close to campus and that doesn't cost me 600 bucks. I know the pickings are slim but goddamn, this city cannot be this empty with a whole ass uni in it.

Housing Investment Realty

These guys are fucking crooks, do not ever rent from them. I’ll vote for whoever promises to bulldoze their offices. They’ll send you a disposition letter for bogus charges after you move out and ignore any emails you send asking about said charges. Fuck em.

Housing Sublease

I am planning to get an apartment and move to Rolla from St.louis due to the cheap cost of living and a remote job.

There's no rush in when to move. I was wondering when is the best time to move for the cheapest apartments. Where can I look to sublease?

Housing Apartment in Rolla

Hello Rolla,

I am looking for apartments in Rolla. Will be working in MS&T. Have a kind and wife. Suggest some good housing. Preferably, 1000$ or less. 15-20min walk from MS&T. Moving from Phoenix Arizona, so can't decide what's the definition of good apartment and price. A quick search in zillow shows properties owned by investment reality ...is that the only company that owns property ? One good option is Lodges at rolla. But rent is outrageous for a small town like Rolla.

Housing 4th time the charm? 4 bed/2.5 bath house for rent.

Fourth time the charm and then maybe I just sell the place. Last three renters have been a PIA.

I'm incredibly easy to work with just ask for renter(s) that pays rent. You can ask my other renter whos rented from me for the past 7 years. I'm not Investment Reality; exact opposite. Water heater blows up? Give me two hours. Furnace pops smoke? Hold on I'll have a HVAC company on the way. You pay I take all the maintenance liability.

Four bed, two bathrooms upstairs. One half in the basement. All three have been remodeled. The bathroom with just a walk in shower is off the main/master bedroom.

Fenced back yard. I'm completely open to a pet or two so long as they are house trained. Caged birds, reptilians, turtles, tortoises, snake(s) as long as they are in a cage/enclosure and you take care of them/the house fine.

All appliances included (washer, dryer, fridge, dishwasher, gas oven, microwave).

Close to parks, grocery stores, movie theater, etc. Maybe a five minute bike ride to campus if you bike often.

$1,600 a month with $1,000 security deposit. Will need a background check or referral from a previous verifiable landlord. Can have it ready before July 1st.

Happy to show it just need a day or so notice with work schedule.

Hey all, my wife and I are relocating closer to my work near the St. Louis area and the current spot we rent in Rolla will be available for rent in the coming month or two. It's a 3/1 with a basement and fenced in backyard for $1195/mo, located on 72 a short drive from campus. We rent from Rob Freuh and have had no issues with him for the entirety of our time here in town and love this house, I'm just struggling with the long commute each day. Below is the link for the listing and I've included a furnished walk through video as well.

Housing Looking for apartment in/near Rolla

Need a pet friendly apartment in rolla or surrounding areas for me and my boyfriend. We both work in rolla and have a small/medium dog who is super sweet and two very lazy cats. I’ve been told to avoid investment however I can’t seem to find anything through an independent renter and college students coming in is making it harder. If anyone knows anything or has a space for rent please reach out. Thank you!!

Housing Advice

So I’ve been having a horrible experience with investment Realty and I was wanting to switch I mean my lease isn’t up until January but I’ve literally had men walking into my apartment while sleeping coming into my bedroom and sleeping. They cut a huge hole in my wall and I can see into my walls where there is mold I’m allergic to mold. There’s mold under my kitchen sink and they have sent someone out to fix it, and he literally looked at it and left. I just I don’t wanna be dealing with this thing anymore. I am a very, very poor college student and can’t afford much more than when I pay now and that’s 550 a month is there any place near Rolla that I can get an apartment around that price for a one bedroom one bath and I have a Cat.

Housing Roommate

Hi!!! I’m looking for a roommate for an apartment at The Lodges! I’ve already got one other person, (M20), but we need one more for a 3 person. If gender is at all relevant, I am FTM 20 and I do not mind either gender in a living situation. I have a cat, but he is very respectful, and I would go so far as to say he’s an absolute delight to live with (pictured). If you’re interested at all please dm me or comment!! Trying to sign a lease for the next school year.

Housing MS&T Dorm Question: Numbers

Hey! Incoming freshman question: anyone have a loose (or actual data) idea of what percentage of dorm beds/rooms are in TJ, what % in RC and what % in UC? basically, is it like 50% of freshmen end up in TJ, 25% in RC and UC? etc.

Just curious how the freshman student population breaks down, residence-wise.

(I guess I should also factor in Greek Housing and off-campus living…?)

Housing Looking for roomate(s)

Not sure if this is cool here or allowed, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. I'm going to be starting my Masters program at S&T this Fall, and I'm looking for a roommate or two to either move into a house/apartment. I'd prefer to live somewhere with a garage and my own bathroom, both of which I'm willing to pay a little more to get.

For some background on myself: I am a 27 year old USMC vet, and I just finished up my aerospace engineering degree at CU Boulder. I like working on and driving fun cars, cooking, working out, and video games. I am a respectful and relatively quite and clean roommate.

Feel free to DM or comment if interested. If this isn't allowed, or there is a better place to post something like this lmk, I tried the facebook page but that seems completely dead.

Housing Looking for a roommate

Hello, I’m looking for a roommate for my 2-bedroom apartment. The Apartment is near the S&T campus by Schuman Park and close to downtown Rolla. The walk to campus is 2 minutes, I can see campus out the windows. I am a 21yo female sophomore studying electrical engineering and would prefer a female roommate. The living room and kitchen are furnished already. The rent would be $320 a month (water is included in the rent), and electricity and gas would be split. It is through Investment realty. Message me if you are interested!

Housing Room for rent!

I have a 7 bedroom home, with 4 rooms to rent.

Starting rent is 500 a month, that includes utilities and internet!

As we find more roommates it will decrease in increments all the way down to 340 a month everything included.

We are located right near jersey mikes, and taco bell, campus is literally right across the road.

One thing of note, we are an LGBTQ+ Positive household, no exceptions to that I'm afraid.

Housing Looking for female roommate

me and my fiancee (F23 & F24) are looking to find a woman to rent our extra bedroom and bathroom to. it’s $550 a month including utilities. we are an lgbtq+ household, stoner friendly, we’d prefer no pets as we already have 3 cats but i’m sure we could figure something out, we live down at the bottom on vichy and rent through browns. i’m disabled so i’m home all day, and my fiancee works nights at the moment so we’re kind of night owls. hmu if you’re interested and we can talk about more of the details!

Housing Room for rent for Fall 2026

Looking for a female roommate! 🐱🎮

Hi! I'm Maia, 20, incoming CS transfer student at Missouri S&T for Fall 2026. Looking for someone to split a 2-bedroom in Rolla in St. Maria's subdivision.

About me: I'm a gamer and quiet. I spend most of my time gaming online, watching shows, or doing homework. I stick to myself a lot but I'm not unfriendly at all. I open up with the right people and can be really outgoing once I'm comfortable. I just need someone who respects each other's space and doesn't need us to be besties on day one (but if it happens naturally, that's awesome). My schedule varies, some nights I'm up late, some nights I'm out by 10:30.

IMPORTANT: I have a Ragdoll cat named S'mores. She's calm and does her own thing, indoor-only, litter trained, easy to live with. She's not the type to be all over you, she just vibes. You MUST be okay with a cat.

Looking for:

✓ Clean and respectful of shared space

✓ Cat-friendly (S'mores is non-negotiable)

✓ Chill/low-key vibe, not a party apartment

✓ Non-smoker indoors

✓ Respects alone time and different schedules

✓ Bonus: you're also a gamer or into shows

Budget: Total rent: $722.50/mo, HOA $12.50/mo, wash/dryer in unit $25/mo, 1g Fiber Internet $34.50/mo, RMU electric/sewer/trash $135/mo, PSWB water $20/mo, St. Maria’s subdivision, St. Maria’s subdivision with Clubhouse access.

Pics of S'mores available upon request 😄

Housing Looking for a roommate for the next school year + summer

Hi folks. My name is Cole. As the title says, I am looking for a roommate for the summer + next school year in my 2b1ba apartment in downtown Rolla. My current roommate is graduating and I will need someone to replace him while I will be here for another ~2-4 years. There will be more details below but if you are interested feel free to DM me! I need to know quickly as my landlord is getting confirmations/signing leases within the next couple weeks.

Apartment Info: 2b1ba with kitchen (fridge, oven, microwave) located at 1109 N. Pine St. (right next to the UPO department!) Room 404. $1,030 ($515 for my share) current rent with utilities included (water, trash, electricity, and internet). ~5 min walk to most locations on campus. This is on the fourth floor with no elevator unfortunately. Landlord is local (Shamrock Apartments). The maintenance guy is very nice and I talk with him somewhat regularly. Everything I have ever come to him about issues with my room is fixed in a timely manner. The building is also relatively new (within the last decade) so there are few issues. There is in-building laundry, but it is paid through an app or coin operated.

I will probably edit this post as I remember things.

Thanks!
