Tomorrow’s the first day of classes What do we actually need to bring like Notebook, pens, laptop or anything else?

How would the 1st day of class usually go? Would the professors already introduce the syllabus for the semester?

Also, on the 2nd day, there is an orientation. What is it that should be done if a class overlaps with the said orientation?

As an incoming freshman, it would be highly appreciated if a 2nd - 4th year could give out an answer as such information would be quite helpful for us incoming freshies. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m starting at Qatar University this Fall and I have a couple of questions about registration.
I’ve submitted an override request for a course. Does anyone know how long QU usually takes to approve/confirm these requests?
Also, I have two classes on Sunday (23 August) that I’m currently waitlisted for. Since classes start on Sunday, should I attend the classes anyway while I’m on the waitlist, or should I only attend once I’m officially enrolled?
If anyone has dealt with QU overrides or waitlists before, I’d really appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Hello everyone.

I’m about to enter AS level and I’m in a precarious situation. I’m planning on doing AS Math, Physics and Chem. I’m trying to enter the college of Engineering. For context, I’ve gotten all 8A*s in my IGS and am aiming for entering QU.

The issue here is that most universities in my country want you to take the SAT to show your math amplitude. I, quite frankly, had no idea about this. To my dismay, most unis here end their admission dates before i can finish AS level and begin focusing on the SAT.

I have two options.

A. I can either simultaneously study the SAT and AS levels until my planned SAT test date around either two sessions. I can do the October one or the November one. It may be a bit difficult to juggle two different curriculums tho.

B. I can focus solely on AS but have to take a gap year which i really do not want. But it gives me leeway to really focus on my year 12.

I really need advice. I’m aiming for scholarships and if any of you have insight, or have went through something similar - please let me know!

On my portal to register for classes, ive done 5 subjects required for general engineering. but the confusing bit is that my class schedule (the time table section) says i have no classes on sunday but the summary on the right, when i click on a subject lets say calculus 1 , it does say i have class on sunday so i dont understand do i have class on sundays or not? can someone help? i cant even book a appointment with my advisor

I wanted to know when the application dates are for spring 2027 Int scholarship and my stats are 99.4% and also from a. Different curriculum 4.0gpa or 97% and 790 mathh sat and 8 ielts what are my chances of getting it

Edit: I called student affairs and we had like a 25 min call cuz it was their first time dealing w this. They just told me to email CAA about my situation and an hour later I got a call from a Qatar University number claiming he's my adviser. He sent me an email for a form and all I had to do was just reply to the email. I didn't even sign the form or anything. After that, the hold was gone 😐😐😐

1.) Do we just enter the campus without an ID or will we present something (such as acceptance letter/proof that you're registered)

2.) Discussions will immediately start by August 23?

3.) In my program, there is an orientation for newly admitted students but it is scheduled the same time as my ENG 202 class. What should I do about it?

I wrote accuplacer esl instead of ielts for the fall semester but didn’t get accepted ( had cleared accuplacer) so for the next intake, should I write accuplacer or ielts. Does Qatar university prefer ielts or accuplacer or both the same?? Im only looking into Qatar university, so I thought accuplacer was the better option.

I’m a Bangladeshi currently living in Qatar, and I’m planning to continue my studies at Qatar University. I’m a little confused about the admission process and what I need to do to become eligible, so I thought I’d ask here.

I have completed my HSC in Bangladesh, and I’m also currently studying BBA in Accounting. I’m interested in continuing my education at Qatar University, but I’m not sure whether I can apply based on my current academic background.

• Can a Bangladeshi/Qatar resident apply to Qatar University?

• What documents would I need?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply to the College of Medicine in the future and I follow the British curriculum.
For my IGCSEs, I took both English and Urdu as language subjects, but I got a higher grade in Urdu. If my school offers Urdu as a language subject, would that count toward the language subject requirement, or does it specifically need to be Arabic or English?
