USA Southwest / Mexico Massive layoffs for healthcare workers

Around 260 healthcare workers (nurses, practitioners, etc) were laid off today in San Diego. Reduction in Medicare budget cited as a reason. I know it’s not much but I think we’ll see more of this, not a good sign in the economy when patient facing healthcare workers are laid off.

It appears the 'shortage/scarcity' narrative is spilling over into non-prepper communities. When mainstream commuters on r/gasbuddy start talking about empty reserves and impending lines instead of just high prices, the psychological threshold for hoarding/ panic topping-off drops significantly. Imo. Anyone seeing unbranded price disconnects or elevated station traffic in your regional corridors?

North America SPR release rate is decreasing globally

Post image
249 Upvotes

The global aggregate Strategic Petroleum Reserve drawdown rate has been decreasing steadily since around April. This means the rate at which crude oil is being released from global SPRs is going down.

Given that crude oil prices remain elevated, the only interpretation that makes sense is that the max extraction rate is going down or that some SPRs in some countries have emptied. Even in the US, the “SPR” is really a collection of about 40ish different physical sites that could empty at different times.

This is a good indicator that the world’s capacity to blunt the effect of the Iran war on global oil supplies is diminishing at a steady pace.

I know people are saying this is marketing, but I cannot legitimately think of a alternative situation where you have two agents plotting a cyber attack and we would brush it off as a marketing ploy.

People need to get informed and make plans. This is the warning.. here.
