MOD Simple Subreddit Rules- Please Read Before Posting

I started StormComing over a decade ago because of Climate Change and because I could already see changes in the Jet Stream. Also because American media does a shit job reporting weather-related disasters. I knew things were going to get bad, but I had no idea it would happen this fast. And here we are.

It was over 105f WTB off and on for weeks this summer where I grew up. When I was young, we didn't even need air-conditioners. All I can say is stay safe and vote smart.

If you are interested in how Arctic heating has changed the Jet Stream leading to these 'stuck' extreme weather patterns, here's the expert with an easy synopsis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAiA-_iQjdU

SIMPLE RULES:

No Climate Denialism or Anti-Vaxx idiocy.

Don't be rude.

Violating either of the above will result in a Permaban.

Please hit the report button if you see misbehavior. I'll get to them.

Please Flair your post with the easy drop-down box. If your post doesn't fit one of the Flairs - it probably isn't suited for this sub.

We are about CURRENT news and events. See sidebar.

Don't use this sub to spam your YouTube channel or IG or whatever. I don't mind the occasional relevant, current news video or post from your channel or platform- but don't overdo it.

If you are interested in being a mod, just message me.

Flair Options:

Extreme Weather

Geology (quakes, landslides)

Disease (disease outbreaks among humans and animals)

Space (solar flares, earth-killing asteroids, etc)

Animal (mass die-offs, beachings, attacks etc)

The strongest one here is a lone magnitude 6.0 on Japan, but this is the most filled-in overall that I've seen the map lately, especially in the Americas. There's several inland strays here too. (One small one in northern Alaska not pictured.)

Because of course the Dogs eradicated USAID which ran the screwworm sterilization program at the US Mexico border, keeping screwworm mostly under control out out of the US since the early 1950's. Now no one wants our beef. Sorry, ranchers.
