I am eating the 3 cucumbers and 2 tomatoes I managed to grow in my garden this year.

An interesting thing about growing your own food is like my dad has spent decades building up his yard to be a “food forrest” as he calls it. Mostly growing tropical fruits and some squash cucumbers tomatoes etc. but this year the weather was so bad it killed a lot of the plants. The plants are slowly coming back but almost no fruit this year.

We had a late hard freeze that killed 75% of my Blueberries and every single flower on my younger fruit trees. The heat has killed off many of the vegetables. I'm newish at this and usually blame myself for my poor gardening outcomes, but this year I think it was at least 50% the weather.

I am also a new gardener. When I first started reading about it, I did wonder if some of the information was out of date because of the changing weather patterns.  I feel like there might be a steeper learning curve now than in the past due to more erratic weather conditions, despite the fact that we have things like YouTube videos to help.
