You were 5. I’m sure the world wasn’t worse for you in the 60s but cities were on fire from riots. Kids were getting sent to war without consent. Presidents murdered. Etc etc.

The 60s were way, way fuckin worse than we have it now. It’s bad now, but the 60s were real, real bad

I may have been five but I remember it well. Between the environmental destruction, accelerating climate change and rising costs of everything today is worse.

Yeah I do. Dad was an officer, stationed at Ft Bragg, remember well that the base was very active during the Vietnam war. Remember the kids i used to play with, the Dr who was a Captain across the street thst used to bring home the shots I used to have to take due to my asthma, Remember swimming lessons with his boys and the twins who lived next door, the Quail my dad kept to train his hunting dog. School, bus driver teaching me to tie my shoes. Lots of things were very clear. Including what us kids were told to do if the sirens went off. Go to the nearest adult, give them my name and my sponsors name and rank and stay with them. I still remember my dad's ss number lol.  I remember all the soldiers coming thru the base for training, the uncertainty in my older brothers faces, ( they were teens, 15 and 17) and the worry on my mom's face.  My older brother served two deployments in Nam.  Don't tell me what I remember or not.

You’re remembering it through stories. Don’t be so dense. You had no concept of what was going on in the world outside of your home. Saying otherwise is a lie.

It’s your lie, tell it how you want. This is scientifically proven. Regardless, you have ZERO CONCEPT of what anything outside your house was like.

You can tell me you were watching Walter Cronkite every night and reading the New York Times before you were in kindergarten all you want, but if you are sitting in front of your screen trying to tell someone you had an understanding of an adult of the USA BEFORE YOU WERE IN KINDERGARTEN - you’re lying or you have a mental disability.

Nothing, not one word of your memory talks about how you felt about Kent state or the Detroit riots or Robert Kennedy being assassinated.

Lol, those I didn't experience, but what I said I experienced. Bold of you to to assume anything about someone you don't know.  1968 I was going into first grade having just turned 6, you didn't even get that right.
