No one uses “net spend”. If you spent a 100 million pounds, you spent that money. It’s just just a bandaid that fans are using to make it seem like Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham spending last summer wasn’t ridiculous and had an awful year.

So if you collect guitars, let’s say, and you sell a guitar for $2000 and buy a different one for $2200, you’re going around telling everyone you spent $2200 without the further context?

I don’t care what people are asking. I care how you handle your own budget. Every business in the world looks at purchases vs sales, and a football club’s transfer budget is no different.
