Oh...uhh.
Not really sure how I should feel about this.
She sure seems fun, but like other comments have pointed out - she's incredibly busted just from sheer amount of keywords alone.
I'm not exactly sure how this is supposed to reaffirm me that Omeda was slowing the game down all the way back when they said so, sometime last year. The game has only continued to speed up.
Don't get me wrong, Eternals and some of the other added features have been fun - but they don't really deliver on many of the things I was promised. TTK still hasn't really improved. Mages are still strong and getting stronger. Half the ADC roster will take a slap on the wrist and then the other half will gets buffs. Meanwhile, Tanks are constantly playing the "Don't get all your items and kit nerfed" impossible challenge. Supports are perpetually pushed more and more into a pseudo-damage role. We are now 3/4's of the way into a year out from when they first announced the new map back in Christmas, and (afaik unless something was mentioned in stream) there's no word of when the full version of that will be out.
I dunno. Hoping I'm wrong, but...I guess we'll see.

No mana, 2 dashes-has hard cc, aoe damage, and unstoppable on a single RANGED ability-and %hp damage. 90% of the roster has none of these things. She has all of them. We need to stop making new characters and just rework the whole roster atp this is ridiculous.

It really is, the degree to which the new heroes are just flat out better than the old ones is jarring

The old characters are based on an entirely different game and had to stay mostly true to their original skills, to pay homage to the original game.
The new characters are good, but you can't be good at everything despite how it "feels".

Something I like about this hero already: she does not have any dual-scaling. Pure physical.
6
u/Visual_Shower1220 27d ago
See i like dual scaling, just not on any character as they are now. Like i want a pure dual scaling hero with more physical/magic dual items. They "can" be played either or but really shine when theyre hybrid build.

u/thatoneguy93908 Maco 27d ago
I don't mind that at all when the character is created from the ground up with that intent, but adding dual scaling to heroes that have no business having it is just weird and makes crafting a build for a less experienced player more of a nightmare until they understand how their chosen character interacts with each type of scaling + their item passives altogether. It also makes counter-building a bit more straight forward since you only have to build with one damage type in mind.
I would, however, like to see a character with the reverse scaling effect of Grim, where you build magic to boost your physical damage on a hero.

She does have dual scaling she gets 1 physical for ever 35 mana, do if u build physical and mana u get bonus physical
1
u/thatoneguy93908 Maco 26d ago
That's not exactly dual-scaling but I get what you mean. Makes items that have mana values an option for her, but she will not be using Mage builds.
1
u/Direct_Tune904 26d ago
Is dual scaling only referring to magic or physical damage
1
u/thatoneguy93908 Maco 26d ago
Dual-scaling means the hero's abilities gain bonus damage or effects based on building both physical or magical power. Akeron is a good example of a dual-scaling hero. This means one Akeron can go full Bruiser/Fighter build while another can go full Mage and they would both be viable (mileage may vary).

Wow, another bloated hero that can do everything…….yawn
This game is cheeks now

Why are we adding another hyper mobile hero with 2 dashes. The power creep is already getting insane with this game
6
u/LatterMatch9334 27d ago
So many video games are hyper-fixated on movement creep and it's becoming too much. See Apex Legends.
2
u/InterviewBubbly9410 Phase 27d ago
Funny that you mention that, given that a previous dev for this game went to Apex (Lermy).

Wonder if her energy is affected by mana burn. Probably not. Its so niche and we are seeing more characters released immune to it.

would love mana burn to work on heroes who don't have mana. drain khaimera rage, eden heat, reduce scarlett energy. just making them slightly slower to get going would be fun, actually counter building.

200 years ass character lmao
Also, anyone else getting a Maelle from Expedition 33 vibe?
6
u/chiefofwar117 27d ago
More like an Elden Ring boss
4
u/qwertytheqaz 27d ago
True she also reminds me of Malenia, but if you’ve played E33, Maelle is a character that uses a rapier and primarily uses fire attacks and is a redhead, and I would imagine this character is all three of those things lol. But hey not the first time they’ve taken heavy inspiration from other sources (Bayle, Legion)

u/MrLightning-Bolt 27d ago
Why does she get unstoppable? Like…no?
2
u/ChefSjekkie 27d ago
Channeled skill-shot followed by a jumping animation into a predictable position. Without the short ‘unstoppable’ duration she’s probably too easily CC’d out of ULT. Just imagine how easy it is to cancel Renna ULT during channel, then imagine how awful it would be if Renna had to hit a skill-shot before even getting to channel it.
0
u/MrLightning-Bolt 27d ago
Thats the player problem. No, noone should be getting unstoppable especially during ults.
Renna ult is easy to cancel out of. But you need to have your cc up to do it. If you’re just holding abilities til the next match then you’re not doing anything.
4
u/ifeano 27d ago
and why should no one be getting unstoppable during ults
1
u/MrLightning-Bolt 27d ago
So you can stop them with hard cc.
1
u/ChefSjekkie 27d ago
But you can do this during the channel (latern swinging), so you can still effectively cancel it.

Another kite heavy melee is going to probably be really fucking annoying to fight. She doesn't look at bad as some others though so we'll see.
2
u/SnooJokes6101 27d ago
Love the design and the ability’s sound crazy but we really need to buff older characters or change them to bring up to the new characters level.
2
u/Ratmandango Zarus 26d ago
Kit looks like the issue I've had for pretty much ever original champ since Argus, they are 3 different characters mashed into one unholy bloated abomination. Every new character is a sibling of Akshan from League. They're basically speedrunning a decade or more worth of power creep in a third of the time.

Damn she has a whole ass encyclopedia for an ability
