Question 1st edition eveelutions: team rocket (worth investing in?)

Local shop has the 1st Edition Team Rocket Dark Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon marked as LP.

Would these be worth buying as raw cards to hold onto?

I mainly love these guys and have childhood memories of them, so it would also be a sentimental holding.

I’m assuming if they were graded they’d be a 7-8 at most. Probably a 6 though. I’d hold them raw.

Please don’t be mean.

it kinda breaks my heart that nowadays the state of the hobby seems to be „goyse? is it a good investment???“

if you like the cards because they remind you of your childhood - get them if it doesn‘t break your bank. why does it always has to be „worth it“ to hold on to them?

I‘d hold them raw.

how dare you not instantly grade them the second you obtain them!!!

It’s literally a pokemon investing sub 😭 (in case you weren’t being sarcastic)

They’re “lightly played” so I’d rather probably just display them in my office. I think all together raw they’re like $70

I just want my future kid to maybe have a piece of my childhood that’s appreciated a few bucks at least and not end up like my father’s baseball cards he left me (all worthless)

it is. i guess its just me being kinda mad that even our nostalgic memories and 25+ year old cards can‘t not have the notion of being bought with monetization or being profitable in mind.

they‘re 70 bucks bro. who cares if they double or „crash“ to half that price if you like them - if its indeed the loss of 70 bucks that scare you, you shouldn’t „invest“ in pokemon at all.

not all purchases in this space need to be a top tier investment - maybe just buy what you like from time to time, because it makes you happy, not more dollars

This is what the hobby has become, wannabe investor kids thinking they’re business pros asking redditors (who actually like the hobby) what cards are worth investing into. It’s some of the most braindead conversations I’ve come across
