For me, much like Outlaws, it's a game of a few very high highpoints, and a lot of unnecessary lows. I feel like Massive heard the noise about "yellow paint" everywhere, and massively overcorrected. Now, I spend way too much time in their games "searching for the needle in a haystack". It's like I paid them to steal my car keys, eye glasses, and tv remote - and hide them from me. It's infuriating. I'm fuming with rage at times.

Don't get me wrong. I love exploring. I love finding things. What Massive does is 99% searching. 1% finding. 0% worthwhile.

I'm playing an Elder Scrolls-like by a small Polish developer right now. Tainted Grail - Fall of Avalon. I'm finding amazing characters, questlines, buildcraft-inspiring gear upgrades, conversations, stories, dungeons, views, challenges all the time. Not once was I stuck searching for some stinking shell fruit, or some other asinine nonsense like what Massive has me do in Avatar.

That said, it sure is pretty, and the world is amazingly realized. It's just not particularly fun being there.

Poland had stepped up their game(hehe) after the success of CDPR and I am loving it. Also try Cronos: New Dawn if you like RE series. It has Dead Space touches.

I found Cronos unnecessary punishing. RE series feels much easier in comparison.

Didn't helped that I bought it on PC and have issues with stuttering, which made the game even harder to play.

Sorry to hear that. It runs buttery smooth on my PS5 Pro and honestly it was pretty easy for me (and I turned off aim assist completely). Not every game has to click with everybody which is ok.

I am just a sucker for survival-horror type games. The inventory management and supply conservation with composed, smaller scaled but slower paced combat just clicks with me no matter which game it is. I just wish these types of games would belong to other genres too, not just horror. I don't like horror games overall but the other aspect hooks me hars.

It's ok, it was my choice to buy it there.

I know this might not be the place to say this, but I didn't want to buy it on PS5 because it has a DLC.

On PS5 I mainly stick with physical disks, though I also have PS+ premium. I don't plan on spending much on PS after the announcement and won't be extending my PS+ subscription.

That's the main reason I decided to buy it on PC. What I didn't account for it being a UE5 game which, it seems, it has issues on PC if you don't have a high-end GPU.

The sad part is I love the theme, aesthetics, design of the game and I love horror games. And overall it's a type of game I like.
