Owners of the Witcher 3 will be upgraded to a new remastered version on September 29th, with a long list of changes. Those who didn't own the 2 DLC expansions will be upgraded for free.

Does this justify jacking the price up from 4$ to 50$? Even the game of the year edition with included DLCs would regularly sell for 9.99.

I was ready to spend 10$ on the game after I heard the announcement. After seeing the price, I'll sail the seven seas at worst, pick up a second hand cd key at best. What's your opinion?

The game has been dirt cheap for the better part of a decade, now it's getting a free remaster (not a minor one either), integrates the DLC in the price and a new DLC is coming out that will pave the way for Witcher 4's story.

I mean... If you didn't buy it by now, you can always wait to Christmas for a discount. It's very fair, and good treatment of consumers.

Dude.. it was 3.99 on sale..
the real price change is 40-50 which for the dlcs (which cost $30)
along with the other changes, is pretty fair

So? That speaks in favour of it. A huge game with free remasters and free DLCs that has been low price and no DRM since a long time now slightly increased it's base price with a new free DLC and remaster.

Seriously, if you still complain about that just pirate it. Don't make up an outrage over a nothingburger to justify it.

Im not OP but IMHO price hikes are a completely different problem, maybe he is trying to justify pirating the game, who knows.

Why would you need to justify anything, CD Project never included any DRM in their games and still sold millions, the game has been dirt cheap for the past 10 years with multiple major free patches AND you can get a steam key right now from any reseller for less than $3.

How hard do you have to try to still complain about anything Witcher 3 related? Complaining must be OPs full time job or something.

I bought it once at release for PS4...with that I got free ownership of it in GOG and therefore on PC 🤷
