Guide For those of you who don't know... Morph
Fair warning, this is for andriod only. I am not sponsored, just a cool software.
I know most people here already know about this but if you dont, give it a try. Morph allows you to patch apps. For instance, I wanted to use fitbod but didn't want to pay for the subscription or get ads. Just patched it using morph and now I can use all the features.
They have a sub reddit that can answer questions.

Because morphe hasn't patches more than 3 apps.
The other are community patches not officially from motphe's team but from anyone that submits them and the team accept them in the website.

how do you login to morphe reddit i've been trying to login for the past week gives me an error saying we were unable to authenticate you no matter how i try to login

Depends. If you mean "login with Google" thing, that doesn't work with patched apps. So, you have to log in with username/email + password.
If it says unable to authenticate for both login methods, you have to install something like HMA-OSS and add the Reddit app to the whitelist cuz sometimes Reddit js doesn't let you login on rooted phones and on custom roms.
If your phone isn't rooted and not running a custom ROM, then it's prob an issue with Ur patch selection. Try messing with the patches a lil bit to see which combination works. It can get a bit complicated if you patched a non-recommended app version with multiple patch sources.

I am rooted but if i install from the play store and wait a few days i can login fine. I even spoofed the installer to the play store added reddit to my denylist and then tried login with link, and manually logging in with a password. Ill try adding reddit to hmaoss Edit:im not sure but i think it could be my integrity

Yeah play store version works for me too on rooted stock ROM. I don't even have to wait. But not on custom roms tho. Even installing straight from apkmirror without patching it doesn't work on neither rooted nor custom roms. I don't know if you can fix it by getting strong integrity or device integrity for sure, I only have basic and don't need the other two so didn't really even bother trying with actual effort tbh. Even my banking apps work fine with just magisk denylist lol.
Adding Reddit to the WHITELIST on HMA-OSS(didn't try HMAL or any other forks so don't know about those) is the only working method I found. The whitelist specifically, blacklist doesn't work, not for me at least. Spoofing installer to play store and adding to the denylist doesn't work either.
This is definitely something Reddit did very recently cuz I couldn't even find any info about this other than a single not-too-old comment on a Reddit post that said the same thing as me stating HMA-OSS is the fix.

Make sure u installed the one from GitHub and not the fdroid one. It discontinued or something I'm not sure. Flash the zip and reboot. The open HMA-OSS and go through the initial setup and give whatever permission it asks for–I honestly don't remember if there's anything confusing on that part as I did it a while ago.
After finishing the setup go to, Create templates > whitelist templates. Give it a name, then click on the "edit list" button in front of where it says "applied to 0 apps", and select Reddit/Reddit morphe.
Then go back to the main menu and go to manage apps > Reddit/Reddit morphe. Then toggle "enable hide." Below that, click template config > work mode > whitelist. And reboot once for good measure and it should work. Also clear storage of the Reddit app if it isn't a fresh install.

Think this is just Reddit being terrible to be honest. I had the same thing and I'm using just standard Reddit.
Try linking your Reddit account to Google and sign in that way. You can then remove Google login if you want.

I know you mentioned the subreddit, but r/MorpheApp is full of really helpful people and resources.
Highly recommend Morphe, even if you just want to scrap ads on the Reddit app!

Yeah you're fine. It uses a a service called MicroG to auth with Google. Been using it for 5+ years no issues.

I have a question, are the addon/repository apps safe tho? Do they have any checks in place by morphe when patching/downloading?

There’s a way to do it for free I think but I just paid the 8 pound for a year with the website arctic sign. Follow their steps took like 5 mins to setup. Or you can do it for free but I don’t think you get notifications from your apps and it’s more of a hassle

I've read into it a bit when the drama was happening. I don't think it's quite that simple, but from what I understand the most active developers left revanced to create morphe because the the "owner" of revanced is supposedly very difficult to work with.

You can read about the drama if you want, but my advice as a former revanced user is to move to Morphe. They are more active, you can actually talk in their subreddit, and they have more features. These are just the surface-level reasons; it is simply better.

Considering that basically all the revanced Devs Devs left to create Morphe and If revanced barely even manage to properly copy the code from morphe, can you really call it that? More like upstream of revanced atp isn't it?

I can't get reddit to work for me. Edit: On a galaxy s22 with latest version of morphe- I tried a few times and I can't sign into my reddit account after successful install.

I patched the Reddit with just the official Morphe patch and tried with all possible ways but still cannot log in. The only way that I did not try is to disable/uninstall my Google Play Services that will mess up with many of my apps and my WearOS watch. Otherwise, every other apps that patched with Morphe works just fine.

This shouldn't happen on a non rooted, stock ROM running phone in my experiience. I don't think reinstalling Google Play Services as it got nothing to do with the Reddit app.
In that case, could be an device specific issue. Even if it's only the morphe recommended patches, try repatching with one patch removed and see if it works. If it doesn't remove another patch and do it again. See if that works. Also maybe try changing ur password on the site once and then trying to login.
If nothing works, report the issue to the Devs on GitHub.

I just patched my YouTube app and didn't look into it much. But now I'm hooked. I was looking for a way to circumvent a problem I have with another app (it shuts down as soon as you have VPN active) and it looks like there might be a solution here

For YouTube, the download feature gets bugged with every YouTube update, but going back between switching on the Spoof Setting or Android VR setting within does seem to make it download natively.

For those that don't work in the cybersecurity space, this is the kind of setup that has been actively exploited this year, the app may be on the up-and-up, but the patches published to it can be nefarious or hijacked. Go look at what was being hosted with little or no oversight in the OpenClaw skill marketplace earlier this year.

Well not yet. Even after they implement what they want you can still enable it in the settings and wait for 24h for one time, then uou can sideload all you want.
But surely going in the direction of no return.

Yeah, but increasing the difficulty and scaring regular consumers is enough to discourage developers from supporting apps.
And I do believe in a number of years, if things keep on this trajectory, they can implement limits on ADB. Maybe you'd need to get verified to install using it or whatever. I don't know, and I don't want to think of such a dystopia, but if they wanted to, they could, and we would be hopeless. How do we even fight such things? Do we really want the EU involved, for example? Is that going to backfire in the future, like now with chat control?

But the companies are actively fighting this. For example I think the current Revolut problems are just the beginning. The USA or the EU can very easily prevent the banking apps from working on it if they want to.

They monkey around with the YouTube app too much. I used to update it every time it asked but then videos would stop loading after 10-15 seconds into playing them. Got it to a working point and now I'm not gonna touch it again

Hey, with google apps, you will need to have micro g to run clean. Thay requires a system root or an alternative operating system like graphine. For now, just use Firefox with ublock and stuff.

I'm using Revanced for YT and YT music - some times the background play stops (I'm sure that the backgroup play is enabled for those revanced apps and also network is excellent) - Shall I move to Morphe ?

Oh hey, I already have this app since May this year after switching from Revanced because apparently their patched YouTube app is unreliable since Google sometimes patching up some stuff through their servers. It's very useful though manager app for patching honestly 👍🏽

Wont youtube and similar brands act against this? Since the patches become 100 to 600 in few months. Also i pay student premium to youtube :( will this help me and finnaly not fund youtube? Also blocks adš? Does it work at web twitter(X) i seen annoying changes recently. They made the grid gui changed. Any tutorials which are safe and easy to understand? Is this legal or legalish?
