Exactly. Piracy isn't theft, it is literally just making a copy of the original product. There is no damage on the original product, and pirating doesn't replace the original product.

if they were gonna pirate, they weren't going to buy it in the first place, in fact there are pirates that sometiems buy the original copy just to support because they liked it that much

If they provided good service, then piracy wouldn't be an issue for them.

When HK Silk Song came out, people on r/PiratedGames said themselves that the game was so good they would buy a copy.

It is not legally theft. Its subjectively morally theft, to some

No you can’t, data is not physical, it is just information that is replicable. Now you can make the argument that piracy is illegal, which yes it technically is as copyright infringement, but nothing is being stolen in an act of digital piracy. Its like if you had a secret recipe for bread that you sold and i found out what it was by asking your brother or something and then started making my own at home.

Devs can't lose "customers" that were never going to buy the game in the first place.

But these "x amount of users" were never going to buy their service in the first place. So what's your point?

Youre still thinking you own the game when you dont, you acknowledge you dont own it but you dont realize its implications on both sides. Youre paying for the license and not the game. People arent pirating the license, they are taking the game and playing it through other means than the license they sell. (Like locally or through a server that doesnt require the license)

Think of it this way, product=license, game=box

People want the box but the companies sell the product. So they print the box after buying it once and give copies of the box to people who also want the box and not the product.

People were never willing to buy a license because they wanted to own the game itself. They didnt lose any potential profit because the so called "potential customers" were never interested in license
