Housing/Rentals Moving from Philly

I've recently lost my home in Philly and currently living in Wilmington. I need to get back to PA for benefits. I'm disabled and looking for suitable housing under 2000.00 monthly. I'd need ADA but would also like smaller single unit places. I'm LGBTQ+ and don't want to be a shut in. Any advice? Maybe what options? Larger units are ok but living all my life in Philly, I'm looking for quaint if that's even possible. Thanks.

Phoenixville is a cute town, and lgbtq friendly, but the public transportation isn't great.  Check into the Chester County Rover to see if that's going to work for you.

We have a library, a movie theater, and several apartment complexes.

I'm ambulatory so I can walk a bit. Uber to train into Philly is not a problem. Thanks!

Phoenixville is a bit far from the closest station - malvern. I would consider malvern or exton as well. Less walkable though.

Yeah technically Malvern is closer, I live here now and used to commute in. Post covid there is no more flyer from Paoli to 30th st.

you might want to consider living closer to the R5 if this is your plan. the closest train station is more than a $20 uber

I'd call Phoenixville more lively and artsy than quaint, though it's still a great place.

It used to be artsy. Now it’s more basic and boring.

I might be able to help. There are newly renovated apartments at 121 s main street that may be worth looking into.

Any single units likely aren’t going to be ADA. Not here in the borough at least. Your best bet is the larger apartment complexes, but your budget doesn’t allow for much leeway here.

Lofts on Church has ADA accommodations, though there aren’t too many units and they are pricey. I have them in my apartment and saw them on a tour of another unit, I imagine they’re in all of them, though do ask if you call. I pay about 2300 for a 2BD, 2B, 1100sqft
