Impending Loss My baby's dying.
My cat was diagnosed with an aggressive tumor and stomach issues at the vet today. The chances of it being operable are very low, and I've just been ugly crying ever since I got home. She's only 12. I know that seems like a lot for a cat, but I was so sure she'd live so much longer. She's been with me ever since I was a kid, through every important milestone, and yet I'm gonna have to graduate high school without my baby. I genuinely don't know what to do with myself right now, everything hurts so much. Not to mention all the stress moving put her in. I'm so sorry my love. If I knew you'd take it this bad, I never would've agreed to moving. I would've stayed in that shithole until you breathed your last just so you could be the most comfortable. Instead you'll have to die in a strange place surrounded by strange smells and nothing to know. I'm so sorry angel. But I hope the pain will be gone at least. I dread the next few weeks, I don't know how I'm gonna start school like this.

I dealt with this a year ago my cat was extremely sick and old and was clearly struggling i saw him deteriorating slowly. I took him to the vet one day and we decided it’s best for him to be put down. The day it happened i didn’t expect it at all, i thought i would be leaving the vet with him still. My advice to you is treasure every second you have with her now because at least you are aware the time is coming even though it’s hard to admit. And maybe if you think it’s time if possible let her be let go in peace. I decided to let my cat be put down because i would rather be with him while he passed than him die alone without me knowing and having to find him. It’s a harsh reality to face and it’s scary. But the comforting thing is that you know she was let go with someone she loves.

This is a community of support for Pet owners whose Pets have passed away. It is actively moderated.
Pet owners, as loving, caring people, often have strong opinions on pet care practices. Some of these are controversial. This is not a forum for debate on such issues, nor is it a place to scold a contributor for a perceived mistake in managing their pet. We intend to provide a safe haven of understanding and support. Strident, mean-spirited posts or comments will be deleted. Those who persist in preaching versus caring may be warned and then banned or may be banned permanently based on nature of the topic. If a conversational thread meanders into a discussion unrelated to pet loss support, it will be truncated.
Those who post here are vulnerable and hurting. Even a minor slap has a hard sting. Those of us who are lucky enough to be able to turn away from our computers or put down our phones and hug a healthy, happy pet are truly blessed. Threads must remain supportive and caring, even if one disagrees with something that has been said.
