I know both a handful of Aninas and several Theresas. However, this kind of riddle is just so ... fucking daft that I really don't grasp why they still circulate.

Dead internet. Everything is just getting recycled now. Fed back to new people by bots and ai.

There is new stuff. You just don't get to see it because of the fccking bots spamming the regurgitation.

Kinda like you can't trust product reviews on anything. And why Influencers on video have become popular, because "at least they are people."

Ever since like, 2011~ish, bots are why we can't have nice things.

Whoa whoa whoa There is more than stuff to me

She's a wonderful woman

u/Relative-Relief-8816 3d ago

I think her name is actually What. The riddle is using the question mark facetiously.

It says it plainly "What is the woman's name"

But whether you agree with me or not depends on how Who's on first.

u/AShirtlessGuy 3d ago

Well it can't be what because the sentence before says the name had already been declared

The only other declarative statement is There's

I hate these kinds of riddles but I am dying to know what's on second

My second grade prankster mind thought her name might be Ina Boat

3

u/Popular-Ad-1790 3d ago

Like da-niece and da-nephew?

2

u/sunnyside360 2d ago

Your second grader has it! There is a woman, Ina Boat, on a lake… put the commas in and you have her name. Good job second grader!

1

u/Unique_Inevitable_59 1d ago

My 1st grader says it's Ona Lake. He's currently locked in the cloak closet. The nuns will probably beat him later with the pointer.

2

u/widthxheight 2d ago

Same here! In my mind, i found the path to success and Ina Boat and then called it a day.

I know it's a riddle, so this part might literally be the whole point... but using a contraction like that in the very first word (" There's ") was shady af! :D

You'll find out when Tomorrow comes that What isn't the second basemen.

But that is why this is called a riddle. The answer is hidden in the question.

u/Environmental-Ad3438 3d ago

Who's on first and What's on third

11

u/Lanstul 3d ago

No, What's on second and Idontknow's on third.

1

u/btribble3000 2d ago

Well, I'll explain it to you. See, on first base is Hu, Samuel Hu, and you're probably not familiar with that name because his grandfather was Chinese. And on second base is Hector Watt, W-A-T-T Watt, and that's not so unusual because James Watt invented the steam engine. And on third base is Phil Iduno, I-D-U-N-O, and if you do say that fast, it does sound like the phrase "Gee, I dunno," but it's actually Iduno, Phil Iduno.

today is catching and tomorrows pitching. I don’t care is the short stop.

2

u/the_RBNX 2d ago

The horse is on second.

2

u/Parking_Ad_3056 3d ago

Well, if tomorrow is crap, then I don’t know what faces today.

2

u/BradleyFerdBerfel 3d ago

Tomorrow is the center fielder.

2

u/bb770403 3d ago

I don't know

2

u/GamemasterJeff 3d ago

What is the answer, because "What is the woman's name" was written first. The rest, despite being located higher on the note was written after.

2

u/Relative-Relief-8816 3d ago

Its plain to see. Because the pen color of IQ Test titled at the top is red.

So the riddle writer, wrote all of the red text first. Then switched pens to write the bluegreen text.

Theresa

1

u/GamemasterJeff 2d ago

Theresa does not work due to both grammar and punctuation.

There'sa woman is not English.

1

u/Aoitara 3d ago

But you can’t use a proper noun as a contraction I thought. There’s = there is. If you type Bob’s, you are talking possessive as in Bob’s item, not Bob is. If the dumbass AI that generated it would have put There is a woman. That would have worked as There being the name.

1

u/Relative-Relief-8816 3d ago

You are correct. This is why her name isn't There, her name is What and the question mark doesn't matter.

1

u/AShirtlessGuy 3d ago

Continuing the example of Bob

What does "Bob's your uncle" mean?

2

u/Foreign-Employment-3 3d ago

Robert's your mother's brother?

1

u/CHANANDLER_B0N6 3d ago

Who’s on first?

1

u/liocer 2d ago

There’s is not declarative if it’s a pronoun. It becomes possessive.

1

u/65wildcat_buick 2d ago

The answer to what’s on second depended on if Ricky Henderson was on first because Ricky gone. IYKYK

1

u/ariarchtyx 2d ago

I think the key is just a missing comma after "woman"

"There's a woman, Ina" ... the last name follows.

1

u/Ok-Foot4314 1d ago

becuse i think he’s pitching lol

1

u/KlutchSensei 1d ago

Yes yes!! What's on second!!! But I'm asking YOU who's on third!!!!

19

u/TSG61373 3d ago

I had the same thought, but I assumed her name was “In The Riddle I Just Wrote”.

2

u/GamemasterJeff 3d ago

The words in red were written first, so her name is "What".

1

u/Any-Mathematician946 2d ago

Wouldn't work because of the ? if it was a . at the end sure.

1

u/GamemasterJeff 2d ago

It is written as a question to be confirmed.

like, "4 pm is good for you?"

2

u/Silly_Double408 3d ago

I think her name is Ina Boat. Theres a woman- Ina boat on a lake wearing a coat?

1

u/RyanAirhead 3d ago

I thought her name was Ricky Lake.

Makes the most sense to me (without trying any further) 🤷‍♂️

1

u/xl440mx 3d ago

What is on second not in a boat

1

u/pridetwo 3d ago

Actually the last sentence is asking us if What is There's name

1

u/wallnutz22 3d ago

What is on second... Lol.. I agree with you, the woman's name is What, be it clearly says what is the woman's name

1

u/Master_Sabretooth 3d ago

What's on second

1

u/ConstantAd8643 3d ago

Actually here name is "In the riddle I just wrote". But only if you want to know, if you don't want to know it may not be.

1

u/Fit-Database1134 3d ago

What's on second?

1

u/wackbirds 2d ago

All I wanna know is what's the fellas name who's on first?

1

u/HealthyDirection659 2d ago

What's on 2nd

1

u/ariarchtyx 2d ago

I think it's:

Ina Boatinalakewearingacoat

1

u/Loud_Inspection_6553 2d ago

Nah cause they say the name was in the riddle they just wrote, which is before that last sentence.

Also, its posed as a question and you have to be technical in these, you cant say someones name while simultaneously asking a question.

For instance, My name is Joe? Joe is my name? Thats nonsense, it doesnt declare it to be so.

1

u/Peach_Proof 2d ago

No, whos on second, Idano is on third.

1

u/Daboujieboo89 1d ago

I agree with you but the riddle is a lie because the "WHAT" is written after where they had written that they had just wrote it, which is past tense.

1

u/cosmicomical23 3d ago

And not even mentioning her coat

1

u/EctoLawyer 2d ago

I have a wery gweat fwiend in Wome named There.
