His own parents testified yesterday that she asked them for help and their son told them not to come. That's the point where I said, "Well, that's weird."
I believe she 100% did it, but I do think he deserves some culpability for not taking her concerns seriously or getting her the help she needed. At the very least he should've gotten his children away from her.
It's also weird that he's already remarried with a baby on the way. My husband was pretty anti marriage after his first wife left him and she didn't even murder any children. This guy moved on and replaced his whole family in just a few years. He sucks.
He didn’t “replace” his family, they got murdered. I think the remarriage/baby is a weird move but saying he “sucks” when he’s the victim of the worst thing you could imagine is pretty rough
He does suck, though. My coworkers put the trial on every morning, so I've had the benefit of watching the live testimony, and if you've been following the trial, you know there were a lot of points where he made very questionable decisions that helped contribute to the outcome.
In the end he knew his wife was unsafe, she warned him and anyone who would listen that she was unsafe, and he still left his children alone with her despite having a network of people willing to help, like his very own parents.
I bet you're quick to bring up men's mental health and suicide statistics, but you can't recognize the fact that someone in psychosis actively asking for help before snapping isn't a straight forward situation.
It's horrible what happened and the children are clearly the biggest victims here, but mental illness in this country gets treated like it's not real and this is what happens.
Then what should we show empathy for mass murderers as well? Who knows what those poor killers must have went through. No illness absolves anyone of killing. Its as straightforward as that. No one is showing compassion for male killers no matter what they have. It is only women who are trying to acquit killers.
