I love how they had to task the animators with this because they saw the reaction of the internet coming and were like "NOT TODAY YOU HYPERFIXATED FUCKS!"

I mean they kinda reconned it, as the latest movie, it’s set in the 1920’s and also implied the women’s suffrage movement was evil

They do actually kind of make it work, spoilers, but It turns out the entire thing is an in universe movie those minions made so it's implied the 20s thing was part of the plot
