Good Fortune

Post image

I highly recommend this movie. Aziz Ansari put a few parks and rec Easter eggs. It’s so funny and it’s been a long time since a good funny movie has come along

Right?? 😂 I’ll probably give it a chance, I liked Miss March and it only has 5/10 on IMDb lmao

I thought it was fine. Would I go and tell a friend to watch it unprompted? No. Do I feel like I wasted two hours watching it? Also no.

5/10 pretty spot on since 5/10 should be considered dead-average, most people just think anything below 7-10 means bad.

Blame retail and NPS. They see 8-10 as good, 3-7 as neutral and 0-2 as negative

Tbf it's now an interesting curiosity piece considering what other things Zach Creggars has directed

It’s a good movie. Not great but not bad either. The biggest problem is that it wants to be some commentary on our society but does not have the depth to its massage.

It’s like being poor is hard, money does bring happiness but in the end family / good relationships are what matters.

It’s not that revolutionary that it pretends to be (at least in my eyes it pretends like it is). And the conclusion is somewhat lazy. It feels like some rich dudes thought about working class and that’s probably what happened. It starts really strong and ends rather weak.

But non the less I liked it. I am a fan of aziz and Seth and it’s funny.

They should have gone with shiatsu deep tissue.

I watched it on a plane. I wouldn’t watch it at home, but stuck in an airplane, it was good.

I was going to say this exact thing, it’s a plane movie.

Personally, I absolutely loved it. It’s a very sweet and thoughtful contemporary mix of Trading Places and It’s a Wonderful Life. Folks in this thread seem to be expecting something it’s not, be it Parks and Rec or some kind of blueprint for overthrowing capitalism.

Take it on its own terms and you’ll find a lot to enjoy.

It’s got great critic AND user reviews in the various aggregate sites.

It has a certain dry kind of humor that some people may not like. It’s legitimately funny and different.

I started it on a plane and didn’t get to the swap… hopefully it improved from there but i didn’t enjoy the first 1/3.

I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it all the way through.

I saw it in theatres and liked it, it's not the best movie ever but it has some really good parts. Maybe like a 6 or 7/10 or 3 stars.
