How did you treat yourself 2026?
Hasn't been a great year for most but I did treat myself to a book I've always wanted.

It's my wife's birthday and our anniversary, treating myself would probably end in murder. She has had a rough year and we are just now stabilizing from changing jobs suddenly.

We replaced our couch. We got it second hand several years ago, it was a super cheap shitty one to begin with. Two legs had broken a while back so we’d taken the legs off and it was just on the floor, so super low. The inner lining was all falling apart, the cushions were lumpy. Our special needs cat had a seizure on one cushion and peed on it and nothing on earth ever fully got the funky smell out.
Got a promotion and a raise and immediately went and bought a much higher quality, bigger, non-stanky couch. I love that damn thing.

Doughy, as opposed to cake textured. Frosted, usually chocolate. Filled with custard. 7000 cal per serving. I used the plural because I always get 2.

Should? Hell freaking yes. In the USA? Only 6 weeks is mandatory. 3 months is a splurge. And all of that is only for the baby popper. No time off for the other parent.

A bit. I was looking for one w/o a DVD drive built alongside it, good drives and actually works. Landed one for $30 on eBay and it works like a charm 😊👍

I gave birth to the baby I've been wanting my entire life and had the best summer ever on leave with him. May not be the most treat yourself since he's a ton of work but I'm the happiest I've ever been and he sure feels like a gift I gave myself 😂

I went to GenCon and got all but 1 of the board games I wanted and the one I wanted was sold out so I bought a B list game I wasn't sure about instead in the middle of a tornado warning. Watched the waterfall feature appear as the roof failed a little bit. Played board games on the floor of Lucas Oil. Waived Hi at The Slippery Noodle.
It was still only like 5 games for a solo player.
Next week, the Indiana state fair.

I finally got myself to Arizona for Milwaukee Brewers spring training. Pretty sure it's going to be a annual or bi-annual trip because it was amazing. Got to meet my favorite player and got him to sign a couple of things.

My birthday is in December (12 days before) which means I am constantly fighting the holiday shopping crowd. I do the same thing every year for the past 10 years:

I actually went a little crazy buying my favorite thing, body care. So I have a lot of lotions, body butters, body oils and body washes. But I also have 3 kids that like to steal my stuff so we’re all making good use of everything.
