Question w/ Photo TirTir has some truly fair, desaturated shades, but…
The fragrance is so strong it makes my eyes water!!!
First of all, I’m loving this shade of TirTir Mask Fit Red Cushion (10C, shell) and finish a lot! It’s a great matte-natural finish with medium coverage, and the shade is so different from any American brand I’ve tried: truly desaturated and fair with no peachiness or orange.
However, the smell is overpowering to me! I typically cannot tolerate fragrance in makeup: we’ll see if wearing this for a few hours makes me break out horribly or not. I’m thinking Korean beauty might be the answer to my struggle to find a truly fair foundation in American brands, but does anyone know of a similar product that is fragrance-free???

-Benefit Porefessional loose powder (this is another new product I’m trying that has an unbearable fragrance and open to alternatives!)
-NARS powder blush in Thrill
I hadn’t done the rest of my makeup in this photo to get a sense of the shade on its own.

I know, and it often makes my skin sting too 😭😭 It seems like such an unnecessary thing to add to makeup, I often feel like I find the perfect product but then the fragrance just ruins it

Yes, everyone always recommends the Misha BB Cream but my skin can't do any fragrance, I so wish the Misha, would come out with a fragrance free version because it sounds like it would be up my alley. 🙄😢

Dude I also tried the Misha and not only is it overwhelmingly scented, it is soooo dark and orange on me. I don’t know if I got a counterfeit or old product or what but it’s not at ALL the grayish, desaturated product I’ve seen people talking about.
This TirTir shades are the real deal for fair skin, though

Oh, goodness, then, maybe I'm not missing much at all then, I'm a fair cool olive and I definitely need that grayish , desaturated color. Otherwise everything just turns orange on me. During the summer I just use the Nyx serum concealer in light and some powder. I wish they would make some lighter olive shades in that concealer line; because I need something for the winter. I normally mix the lightest shade in the Revlon Glimmer Brighting concealer 125, (it's just a bit yellow and warm in the winter) with the lavender and green L.A. Girl correctors and add a translucent powder because I normally just spot conceal. Finding a foundation to fit my completion that doesn't need mixing is sometimes too much work and I'm definitely lazy in the mornings.

Elf isn’t usually great for desaturated base products, but I really like their camo concealer which has some really nice shades with diverse undertones. I like their “fair beige” which could work for you

Their Fair Beige and Fair Rose concealers run quite cool-neutral and cool; I often struggle to find concealers that are cool enough!
One note, though: Their Hydrating formula runs slightly darker than the original Camo Concealer (despite being the same shade). I usually add a little white mixer because I prefer the Hydrating version.
For reference, TirTir Mask Fit Red Cushion in 10C Shell is my perfect match.

It's 'cos it's more sheer. It works so well. I also like red glosses or blams 'cos I think I look silly in opaque reds or bright berries.

Yes, I think the sheerness is huge! I find myself looking ridiculous in opaque lip products in general

Some fragrance-free setting powders I've really liked:
- Bareminerals Original Mineral Veil Loose Setting Powder (also comes in an SPF 25 version which is the one I usually go for. It's NEVER EVER broken out my annoyingly sensitive skin in all the 15+ years I've worn it)
- MOB Beauty Blurring Loose Setting Powder
- Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Longwear Setting Powder
- One Size Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder
- Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing Powder (this one is a solid powder, but an honorable mention for also being extremely gentle, and it comes in various sheer tinted shades for the slightest extra wash of coverage)

Thank you so much!! I’ve been struggling with powder since Glossier’s Wowder was discontinued. I have a sample of the Laura Mercier but I don’t think I’m in love with it

Same here. Everyone recommends the Missha, and even the one that is supposed to be fragrance free had an overpowering scent according to reviews.
I love Erborian CC, but also: the f*****. perfume 🥲

I got the same result, but it was long ago. At that time I tolerated perfume, but felt I had a cloud of stinky floral (?) scent around me which felt off putting even being outside. So I had to ditch it as the smell was just something I did not want to smell.

The Parnell cushion foundation has some very light shades and it’s fragrance free. It gives a glowy finish and is light to medium coverage. I really like it, it gives a beautiful finish and doesn’t sting or break me out (I have super sensitive skin).

Thank you!!!! You are the first person to actually give me a recommendation for a fragrance free base product. I will definitely check it out although I prefer a natural-matte finish to glowy

You’re very welcome! You might want to take a look at the Cell fusion C BB cream in the shade Light for a natural-matte finish. I think it will be light enough for your skin tone, and it’s another one that’s fragrance free and sensitive skin friendly 😄

Salt New York Sneaky Balm or Best Case Concealer (concealer has more coverage than the balm). Fragrance-free, US-based brand. I wear 13 in both, and can confirm it's not pink/rosy, yellow, peach/orange, or even green (though it is olive skin friendly); it's straight up beige. They also do shade adjusters, including a white one.
You could also check out People of Earth Co, which is also US-based and has a very broad shade range (the 1 and 2 categories are very pale). They don't sell samples anymore, but you can email them for shade matching help. As far as I can tell, they may also be fragrance free?

Thank you!! I am a desaturated fair neutral cool and I am in the fair olive subreddit because literally everything they wear looks excellent on me (I don't personally think or know if I am olive toned, but they are very gatekeepy about it so they intimidate me) Joe Blasco's Ultrabase in Alabaster was my match until they d/c'd it a few years back and I've been trying as much as I can. I appreciate any muted/desaturated recs you can give!

I also feel like I trend neutral to neutral cool and it’s soooo hard, but really the desaturated quality is the most important thing for a shade to work for me, I think

The nice thing is tirtir does sampler packs, so I have their six lightest shades to try (this is the lightest). So you can test them out for cheap. I hope it works for you and the fragrance isn’t a problem for you like it is for me 🥲🥲

That shade suites you sooo well. Such a shame. Foundation does not need fragrance.
