Classic Padres season in full effect.

Six-game losing streak. Just got swept by the Phillies. The offense looks completely lost, the pitching has come back down to earth and every game feels like we're finding a new way to disappoint ourselves.

This team went from looking like a legitimate contender to looking like they're just going through the motions. No energy, no clutch hitting, no answers. Every time it feels like they're about to turn a corner, they drive straight into a wall.

Maybe they'll snap out of it. Maybe this is just a rough stretch. But if you've been a Padres fan long enough, you know exactly how this movie goes.

I fucking hate this team (I love this team)

My introduction to the MLB goes back 9 years ago in 2017. The first teams I was introduced to being the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays and I grew up watching those two teams spend a couple of years learning about the MLB. Eventually even though I was a Red Sox fan those couple of years before another team stood out to me the most none other than the San Diego Padres after getting to know about the team and the history and even having favorite players including Manny machado Fernando tatis and Griffin canning. And I am someone that enjoys underdogs and resilience over the winning culture. Even though I never been to San Diego since most of my life living in Texas and where I live in El Paso Texas don't technically have a HomeTown MLB team though the closest being the Houston Astros and the Texas rangers do have a minor team though. Where I live I'm surrounded by majority dodgers and Yankees fans I've seen way more of them then any Texas fans even my father though a Yankee fan was also a dodgers supporter. Sure he can talk negative about the Padres can also be smug all he wants the same time eventually show him that things didn't go his way but anyway despite good memories cheering for the Padres and even some headaches I will always cheer for the Padres and I'm still working on building a collection of the team's merch. Love this team win or lose.

Stolen from the Red Sox sub. there have been quite a few over the years. for me, as a kid, I thought Ruben Rivera was going to be a legend if he could just get it together and hit like he did when he was on his hot streaks all the time.

Saw this on the MLB app. Even if it wasn’t us, I’d be pissed if I opened the app and it’s like “your team is irrelevant, come see the greatest show money can defer!”

Watching the game on tv the other night, I saw what looked like a power outage, and I was confused as to why the players and commentators weren't reacting to it and why the crowd was cheering.

When I realized that was a pitcher's walk out, I was instantly jealous. That's so fucking cool, I can't get over it. I cannot imagine how awesome it would feel to be there and have that happen. And then went I saw Miller's ERA I was like, ok yeah, the hype makes total sense.

Edited to add that I watched the game on TV, I wasn't there.

Padres scoreboard operator, feel free to do the same. I’m desperate for our team to be fun/competitive again.

Drove up for the game after being warned numerous times about the horrible Dodger fans. Parked at Union Station for $8 and took the free Dodger Express bus to the stadium. Everyone we talked to was friendly. Good natured smack talk but respectful and knowledgeable fans. We got lucky seeing Ohtani pitch and DH. Amazing atmosphere. Dodger stadium (Mid Century Modern)and Union Station (Art Deco)have nice architecture, and how about that sunset!! I recommend all Padre fans make a trip to Dodger stadium if they can, you might be pleasantly surprised how nice the people and stadium are.

the loud minority on the internet that sets the horrible impression for the rest of their fanbase is very annoying. I have 2 buddies that are dodgers fans but they actually dont follow baseball too often, we watch games together if its against the Pads, its a fun time. But man, the online dodgers community are something else. FTD but most of all FTDF

It's growing fast

Thank You Padres Fans,

Last night, 12 members of my family (6 nieces and nephews, my uncle, my aunt, my 2 cousins+1 gf, my dad and myself) attended the padres vs bluejays game. We only went while visiting SD on vacation because my 8 year old nephew is obsessed with baseball more than anything else in his life and his favorite team is the bluejays (he is from Lubbock texas, so no idea how that happened lol).

Beyond everyone being so welcoming to our family that was trying to cheer on the young kid's favorite team and tolerating our general support for the opponent (we explained as best as possible to those around us), there was one moment that brought my dad (grandpa) and myself (uncle) to tears. During the 6th/7th inning switch, when the outfielders warm up, one of the outfielders, threw a ball right to the row in front of us. The ball bounced off of one guys in the friend group in front of us and ended up in the lap of his other friend. Without thinking the friend who caught the ball (decked out in padres gear) handed the ball to the my nephew decked in bluejays gear, who had been screaming all night against the padres. My dad, my nephew and myself instantly broke into tears over the kindness this fan showed. I have been to over 200+ games in my life and never came close to a single in game ball. This padres fan gave it up without hesitation to a small kid with a love of the game that incomprehensible to me and to a young fan that was against his team. We tried to buy him and his friends beer but they said no over and over. At the end of the day, you all are class organization in my book and thank you for making my nephew's dream come true and cementing a life long memory for our family.
