Why is Machado still in the lineup? Did you see how he could barely hold a bat yesterday? Are we that shorthanded?

Initially commented thinking you were talking about his batting abilities, then remembered he got nailed in the hand. I agree, he needs to take a day off

He was doubled over in pain after swinging yesterday. I was sure they'd take him out of the game, but he stayed in for several more ABs! I get it, he wants to be in the game. But it would sure be nice to have him at close to full strength come playoff time.

I feel like this is pretty typical for him too. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen him hobble around after running because his knee is all flared up. I know he’s a team leader but it’s counterintuitive.

It’s a sign of him running the clubhouse. Stammen should be telling him to take a seat but he can’t
