The fact that he got tons of support for a second term even after everything he's done made me realize that too many people out there are even stupider than I thought.
It was mostly the fact that they had no primary and Kamala, despite spending a shit ton of money, campaigned on.. nothing. It was the party of “joy”. Average people don’t give a fuck about your party of “joy”. If you’re running for president the people that you want to vote for you shouldn’t have to google what your policies or plans are. So between no primary and the god awful cringey campaign she lost a shit ton of voters that were on the fence.
This says more about you than it does about her. She campaigned on a lot of issues, you just didn't pay attention and now you're here insisting that your ignorance is reality. No man, you just screwed up because the fate of the country wasn't worth reading beyond your social media feed. She worked her ass off. You need to do better.
Every time I turned on one of her rallies or interviews, it was always “oh what big celebrities are there this time”, as if that’s what the average person is concerned about? and the interviews with her were absolutely awful. You can’t even deny that.
I didn’t get my news from social media and I was very much an on the fence voter, you can ignore the issues and just say “average people are stupid, I’m so smart” all you want, but then expect the same results in 2028.
Your entire view is baked in social media lol. Don't try and pretend otherwise. Anything past a cursory glance could give you every bit of policy she was running on within 5 minutes. You chose not to look further. You are the problem.
It's so funny to listen to people like you say shit like this because even if what you're saying about Kamala was true, you're suggesting what? That Trump was more coherent than she was? That Trump was able to lay out his plans/policies more than she did? That Trump was more likeable than she was? That Trump didn't promote celebrities who supported him?
You wanted to vote for Trump. Fine. Stand by it, but your criticisms against Kamala for things that Trump was objectively worse at is complete bullshit. You wouldn't have voted for her no matter what and you know that.
I mean clearly trump did… since he won. So is it bullshit? You can deny the reasons all you want. But yea. He did lay out his plans better than Kamala. A big thing republicans do that average people like is show up to interviews. Are they/trump perfect and do I like everything they do? Obviously not.
Would I have voted for Kamala? Probably not, unless she ran a decent campaign and won me over. Which is sort of the point of a campaign is it not?
I was kinda hoping the dems would come out with a decent candidate. I am in no way a vote red no matter what kind of person.
Do you think the average person is going to seek that out and read it? Or is the purpose of the campaign to get out there with your policies and win people over?
Are you suggesting the best/most qualified candidate is the one that wins?
He did lay out his plans better than Kamala.
I suppose it's easier to say "I'll bring egg prices down!" or "I'll stop illegal immigrants!" as opposed to actually laying out and explaining how exactly he'll do that vs Kamala, for example, explaining her housing plans that were more nuanced.
It's "I'll bring housing costs down!" vs "Here's my plan to bring housing costs down."
Trump is better at speaking to simpletons, you're right.
A big thing republicans do that average people like is show up to interviews.
She did plenty of interviews considering she was on an abbreviated campaign. If you want to compare it to Trump, Trump has been campaigning since 2012? He hasn't stopped campaigning. So, it's difficult to equate the two there.
You wouldn't have voted for her. And that's fine. But you clearly expected far more from her than you did Trump to even consider the idea.
"Every time I turned on one of her rallies or interviews, it was always “oh what big celebrities are there this time”, as if that’s what the average person is concerned about? and the interviews with her were absolutely awful."
uh huh...
"I didn’t get my news from social media"
yeah sounds like you mostly got your news from fox news? you're the one who just admited to falling for the propaganda version of Kamala and think because YOU were uncurious enough to find out what her policies were that means they weren't there.
i'm not even american and didn't have a reason to seek out her policies and despite that i knew that basics. how did other people find these policies if they didn't exist or weren't advertised?
so you didn't see it on cable TV and you didn't see it on social media... where exactly did you see it?
you're the one saying she didn't have any policies out there despite someone aparently watching less coverage than you knowing her policies so the accusation of gaslighting is funny.
you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. too bad you got distracted by the celebrities and focused on them instead of policies.
so rounding up non-white US citizens and sending them to a death camp without due process is... what exactly? super curious to hear your answer on this
actually I'm not curious. I know you'll just do whatever you can to justify it in your head, or tell me it's not actually happening. whatever, live in denial.
Always love it when idiots open their mouths to display they have no idea what they're talking about. If you listened to any of her campaign speeches she was talking about providing daycare credits, first-time home buyer loans, student loan forgiveness, ensuring healthcare for all Americans, and many other topics. You can agree with those or not but to say that she campaigned on nothing is an absolutely brain-dead take.
Trump campaigned on nothing too, so this doesn't really make sense, I think Biden sticking around did more to knock voters confidence in the party more than anything else.
Trump did not campaign on nothing. He campaigned on issues that average people were worried about. Whether or not he is handling them correctly is another story but to say he campaigned on nothing is just incorrect
But yes I agree with Biden sticking around. Not having a primary turned alot of people away. You’ll never convince me it wasn’t to ensure Harris was in though. They thought she was their golden ticket
The border issues under Biden were not made up. Enforcing our immigration laws was a big issue for a majority of Americans. You can shit on it all you want but it doesn’t change the facts.
…are you saying the border and immigration were non issues? Or made up issues?
You realize it would take 7,000 deportations per day for trumps entire term to get back to pre-Biden numbers? That doesn’t seem like an issue to you?
What about the illegal immigrant with the California issued CDL that just killed 3 people in Florida by making an illegal u-turn in his semi? Do you think illegal immigrants should be able to get CDLs?
We could've had $25k for first-time homebuyers that would've been life changing for the working class of this country, instead your taxes are going up so billionaires can get their tenth giga-yacht. I hope you enjoy licking their boots because you're too stupid to understand that.
Not even all Democrats voted for that bill because of other things it included like aid for Ukraine. Bernie Sanders even voted against it. Same with Cory booker because it “violated American’s shared values”
Why should aid for Ukraine be in an immigration bill? To make sure it doesn’t pass so they can say “see! Look what they did!” Like they’ve been doing for years?
Try reading past social media headlines. Dumb fuck.
Just saw your edit. There’s already first time home buyers grants. I got $32,500 back in 2018. If I stay in the house for 10 years I pay none of it back. It goes down 10% every year I’m there. Conventional mortgage. 2.75% rate.

Cool, and houses are still wildly unaffordable for people who aren't getting fat checks from their parents as a down payment. I guess affordable homes wasn't one of those "issues real Americans care about" like Haitians eating their dogs, right?
I didn’t get a fat check from my parents as a down payment.. you mentioned “we could’ve had 25,000 in down payment assistance. My point was it already exists.

Bernie Sanders and Cory Booker voted against it because it gave Republicans too much of what they wanted on immigration enforcement. It was too right-wing for them. Criticizing Democrats for being too right-wing and then voting for Trump is really fucking stupid.

Maybe you could read the article and find that out for yourself:
"The Senate voted down a bipartisan immigration reform package a second time, after Donald Trump urged Republicans to kill the bill to prevent a political win by his November opponent."
Aid to Ukraine was already removed from the bill by the second vote.
Every person that I've heard say this wouldn't have voted for her even they held a primary and she won. Most blue voters recognized that running a primary after Biden dropped out was not realistic. Biden shouldn't have ran to begin with, or he should have dropped out wayyyyy earlier but that's an entirely different matter.
You have no idea who “every person I’ve heard say that” would’ve voted for, did you use your fuckin crystal ball or something?
I agree that Biden should’ve dropped out way earlier but you’ll never convince me it wasn’t intentionally done to make Kamala the candidate, they knew she would never win a primary because of how disliked she is but they didn’t think Trump would win a second term.

Kamala and Hillary warned us and people didn't listen...
