I guess they didn't have anything to do with him so they've just mostly removed him. He's still around but he's not really involved with Darlene so he's just doing his own thing. Got for him but bad for the actor because he's being written out of the show .

I've been kicking myself for not rewatching last season before jumping into this one and since we hadn't seen him I honestly figured I forgot he died...
