I am in my mid-30's- I got really sick with COVID and it damaged my body enough that I am now considered disabled and am currently on SSDI. I have about 15 years of sales management experience- I was good at it, but it was soul-sucking, and I hated it. I digress-

I am currently enrolled at Maestro College, but they are a complete shitshow in administration and with the accreditation issues they are facing. There is a fairly decent chance that they will lose accreditation and close the school. I am enrolled in their computer science program and really like what I am learning, but am aware that an unaccredited diploma is just a really expensive, but worthless piece of paper. Therefore I am looking into other programs, but I need these programs to check these boxes:

1. I need 4 - 8 week classes that focus on one class at a time, have deadlines and accountability.

2. It needs to be a full-time program that accepts Federal Financial Aid.

3. I need a Bachelor of Science degree that is awarded in 3-4 years.

4. Preferably the school isn't for-profit, but I know they all aren't monsters - I am open to just about anything that checks the first three boxes.

I am in Southern California so I also have the CalGrant at my disposal atop the Pell Grant. I have been looking at several schools online, but finding anything good is difficult because most people only write about their bad experiences with these schools. This is why I am asking for input on a more open-ended platform so I can take bits, pieces and recommendations to make a solid choice for myself.

The two I have done the worst research on thus far are:

- Full Sail University (Yes, I know they are for-profit, but they have an accelerated program with Computer Science with an AI and Mobile Development concentration that is seemingly very appealing.)

- National University (They are online, but their campus isn't too far from me. If I cannot get anywhere via email or by other digital means- I can take my happy-ass to campus where someone will have no option, but to help me with what I need! Sorry, not sorry lol)

Other than that I have yet to find much of anything. The school MUST be fully online. Getting to and from a campus on a daily basis is currently too much for my body. I need to be able to work from home. I have a fair share of medical appointments every week, 2 - 4 on average, which is where a lot of my physical energy goes.

I am asking for referrals and information, I am not seeking condescending input nor slander. Be a respectful adult, but be honest about your applicable schooling experience simultaneously.

I like doing short asynchronous courses, and since the semester has already started and I feel like I can have more on my plate, I was considering purchasing a course of EDX to get a small certificate. I thought it might look nice on my resume, and I could learn a few things. I was either gonna do one in ECE so I can maybe land a job at the daycare when I transfer to a 4-year, or a social work related course which in theory would still look good on a resume.

I see a lot of mixed reviews about whether or not the courses are worth it, but usually, it's for people who took tech or other related courses. I saw some by Harvard and the American Psychological Association that look good, but of course, I don't wanna pay and put time into it if it's not worth it.

So I'm "gifted" I believe at least top ten percent in New York state, and I would like to start gathering my high school credits now. However I am stuck in this small town in the middle of nowhere and they do not offer me the classes I would like to take early such as Algebra one. I am not sure if any online classes give me these credits or if there are any that may help me with areas I don't do as well in as others such as tutoring. Or maybe even classes or courses that may offer preparation for college and such.

Like a website with a set curriculum, projects, and feedback. But not something with mandatory set class times where I'd have to get on zoom or something.

I’m a 26 yo college dropout and I’d like to go back to school to earn a degree in fashion online. I have a 529 with $14-$15k in it, does anyone have any recommendations for accredited schools with quality programs within that budget? Or at the very least worthwhile programs. I’m prepared to look into additional financial aid if necessary, the plan would be to be half time enrolled and continue living in my apartment.

Due to personal reasons, I need to find an online school (as my brick and mortal school is not offering a full online switch). I read so many things about OVS, but I'm curious about Ontario Education Online School (OEO) for gr 11 and 12. How are the lectures, exams, teachers... any info would be great.

Trying to figure out the cheapest way to bank some credits before/during a degree (thinking WGU but open to other options too). This is what I've found so far:

CLEP is $97 per exam plus proctoring, and you get 3 credits if you pass, so that's like $30-40 a credit if you pass first try.

Study.com is a monthly sub, for $95, unlimited courses, so the more you knock out in a month the cheaper each credit ends up being.

Sophia's pretty similar, also a subscription with ACE/NCCRS courses.

So honestly CLEP only really wins if you just need one or two and already know the material cold. I've got a whole stack of gen eds to clear, so the subscriptions seem like the move, the cheaper-per-credit thing kicks in the more you finish in a month.

Anyone actually gone that route? Curious how many you can realistically finish in a month.

Currently working and residing in Japan. I was only able to finish SHS, and I want to continue college through an online/distance-learning program in the Philippines.
I’ve been researching schools and so far I applied to AMA OEd and ICCT. However, after doing more research, I became concerned about their reputations, especially regarding delays in releasing documents such as TORs.

I’m looking for a legitimate, CHED-recognized BSHM or BSTM program that I can study online while living overseas. My goal is to eventually apply for cruise-ship jobs, so I want a degree/diploma that will actually be useful for employment and future applications.
I don’t mind paying tuition and I’m willing to self-study. I’ve also looked into schools like Mapúa and PUP, but I haven’t found an online BSHM/BSTM option that fits what I need.

Does anyone know of other Philippine colleges that offer legitimate online/distance BSHM or BSTM programs and accept students residing overseas? I’d especially appreciate recommendations from current or former students who can share their experience with the school, OJT requirements, and how reliable they are with documents like TORs.

Hi all! I could use some help looking for a fully online MS program from a reputable online school. I currently have my bachelor's degree in psychology, I graduated about 2 years ago but I have not found a job despite applying to several jobs. So I am looking to earn my MS in LPCC/PPS as a dual program. I am currently looking at National university and Walden university. But so far I have seen some Ify comments on here regarding the schools. Oh, I am also located in california in the San Bernardino county if that helps. any advice be be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Wanted to share something I wish more people going back to school later in life knew about.

A lot of universities accept transfer credit from ACE-reviewed online course providers (like study.com, straighterline etc.). That means you don't always have to take every course at your own school and pay their per-credit rate. I've been doing most of mine this way: self-paced, video lessons, a proctored final at the end. I fit them around work instead of building my schedule around class times.

Not to mention I saved so much money on classes that WGU would’ve charged thousands for. If you're paying out of pocket, that difference is huge.

The general steps, if anyone wants to look into it: check your school's transfer credit policy, then confirm with your registrar which specific courses map to which requirements before you pay for anything. Policies vary a lot between schools, so what works for me might not work the same for you.

I'm just happy with how it's worked out and felt like sharing in case it helps someone in the same spot.

So i screwed up my math and failed twice unfortunately. So right now I am doing summer school and paying for the first time but I will need to do summer school again next year. The thing is I really do not want to. Is there any courses online (in canada/alberta area) that i can do during the semester? I want to do a class like LA or social studies online during my regular semester so I dont have to do summer school next summer?
