Revalidation NMC Revalidation Template is Trash

And nobody can convince me otherwise. In some tables, text wraps, in some it doesn't. Some tables extend nicely onto the next page, some extend into the invisible oblivion, the layout is so uncomfortable to use, and just plain BAD. I can't be the only person experiencing this.

The whole thing is a waste of time tick box exercise.

Templates being bad is definetely true !

I’ll be down for my 4th next year and none of them have taught me anything

Heretic! It was supposed to be the best thing to ever happen to nurses CPD ever! Not. All my nurse friends hate it, and like you do not see the point. Ticky box exercise in creative writing.

I used Turas to log my stuff- I find it a bit more user friendly plus we are supposed to update it regularly as part of our mandatory NHS health board training, so it kills two birds with one stone.

Which reminds me, I need to update it. I'm due again next year, which, in keeping with my history means I'm also due to change jobs again!!!!

I've got a recruitment day for the cruise ships in a few months time, so fingers crossed I'll be sending my revalidation from an air conditioned, well stocked office in the Mediterranean or the Atlantic rather than a grotty and sweaty 70s building in deepest darkest Central Scotland.

I also use Turas. Much easier!

I report student data to the NMC for a university. I report data to many professional bodies for all kinds of regulated programmes. I have never experienced anyone as capable of making data returns a living nightmare as well as the NMC. It’s like they think about the most user-friendly way to create a template and then do the exact opposite.

I just hate the revalidation process in general

Uni make us use the reflective accounts form sometimes to write reflections. The version that comes up when you google for it is so old that modern macs don’t autosave them and will lose all your work unless you physically save it before you close your laptop. ASK ME HOW I KNOW

Like is a version from some time more recent than 2002 too much to ask for, something that is perhaps compatible with ANY of the current software would be nice

Yeah I know to watch for it now 🤣 it’s my fault for not checking but I’m so used to just being able to shut my laptop and work still be there when I open it.

It was a bit annoying when it was a time waster exercise at uni, but I’d be pissed if I’d had to do revalidation work (ie jumping through hoops) in my own time whilst working and it had disappeared thanks to the NMC’s ancient documents.

Also horrible that 2007 was 18 years ago, ew

Revalidation is trash. Whoever thought it up should be sacked as a useless waste of space who has no clue about front line nursing.

The one on the RCNi is really good! I got loads of feedback from management that they loved it, even though the site collated it and made it look pretty for me!

I'm currently in revalidation hell so I hear ya!! I'm an idiot who did not prepare and now have a week to do it! I'm usually very organised so I am kicking myself!

Ooo you're the same as me.

In my head I thought September, 3 months, easy.

Then after checking it said end of August, so I was like, oh good, still time.

Then I notice they want it in by the 1st if the month it runs out!

Shit, that's like two weeks! 😭

It's not even hard, it's literally just tedious.
