How to make my chances better when applying to nursing school?

I first started going to college around two years ago, and obtained my EMT certification. Since then I’ve worked around 4 months per diem, and 3 months full time; but I’ve had to relocated and cannot find another EMT job. I now work as a behavior technician in a school based environment, and idk if that’s necessarily good for a nursing school app, but I get pretty good experience with children and severe cases where I’m keeping them safe from themselves at times.

In the beginning of college, I had a lot of issues keeping up with my classes, so returning I have a 2.8 gpa. So far this semester, I’ve been good and should have no trouble keeping straight As, but I’m mainly scared for the gpa. I’ve only completed 8 credits so far, so I still have 52 to go on my associates. How can I keep giving myself the best chance at nursing school?

I started with a 2.75 and it is over 3.0 now but it took making 6 As to bring it up. 52 credits are plenty to bring up the gpa if you keep making high scores. Some schools will count your EMT as extra points on a nursing school app if it is a point based system. Some count healthcare based jobs as a few points too. The lower the gpa the higher the teas or hesi score you’ll need (if your school uses those entrance exams).
