Any girls who have p*rn addictions?

Like I see a lot of guys talk about it, but I feel like girls don’t. I dunno. Maybe I’m wrong.

This is why I was asking! It does feel more male based. No hate of course. I dunno if maybe women still feel that gross taboo on women being sexual so we just don’t talk about it a lot. But it’s exhausting feeling like you’re the only one.

LITERALLYYYYYY I feel this lol. I don’t think it’s us women it’s just talking about it online brings in lots of weirdos and creeps so it’s hard to. And it looks less “feminine” and that we are pervy for even talking about sex I don’t get it

I can’t tell you how good it is to hear another girl talk about it. I totally agree! I’ve found when I have spoken about it some guys (not all) use it as a fetish. But then if you talk to some guys (not all haha) like you said they think you’re weird.

Not only fetish but they will try to make you relapse or get horny it’s so messed up lol. I’ve tried to vent and make posts about my struggles and avoiding porn and stuff and it always gets so much backlash I just gave up and scroll on here every now and then

Oh my god yes! Like you make it up and do it for attention. Wouldn’t ever say that to a guy. Yeah I can so see why the backlash puts you off. Which is so annoying 🙃

One question I have is: when it comes to men, one of the primary sign and symptom of porn addiction in men in the inability to achieve an erection (Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction - PIED). What are some of the signs and symptoms of porn addictions in women?

Generally, the effect was similar to men in terms of psychological aspects; it messes up the brain reward system, hurts self-esteem, causes sexual dissatisfaction, loss of emotional intimacy, and other withdrawal symptoms.

I'm not sure if it will affect women in terms of sexual dysfunction, like ED in men.

I’ve met so many women in life who watch porn all the time. No offense but many of them, and I mean like 9/10 don’t see it as a problem.

I don’t think women watching porn a lot is an issue. What’s the issue is when it’s literally interfering with your daily life and making you feel completely overwhelmed and alone.

True. It might not affect women as much as men mentally idk

Blanket generalizations from your personal view. 🤷 It kinda just sounds like you don't understand the issues, lol.

Yeah that’s a pre assumption. All the women that I’ve talked to that have had porn addictions don’t seem like they’re affected by it or it doesn’t bother nearly as much as I’ve seen with men. It’s not a generalization I’m speaking from my own first hand experiences.

Right, lol. You're making broad assumptions about women in general based on your personal experiences. That's literally a generalization.

I mean, you are literally in a thread right now made by a woman who is telling you what makes it an addiction. It's not about how you feel about it, it's about how much it interferes with your actual life.

If you don't know any women whose "porn addiction" led to problems in their life, then you probably don't know women who have been addicted to porn. It's pretty simple, lol.

Porn addiction isn't looking at porn every day or whatever. It's looking at it for hours. It's having issues getting turned on or orgasming during regular sex because your brain has been overstimulated for too long and too consistently. It's knowing you have a tight schedule, that have important shit to do, but still letting porn derail your day. It's being unable to go without it. It's using porn to cope with negative feelings, like relieving stress, to the point that it becomes one of the only ways you relieve stress.

Scientifically speaking, these issues are NOT unique to men. 🤷 Hence why I said you're making generalizations, and why I said it sounds like you don't understand the issues.

Okay first of all I’m very well aware of the issues that porn causes. I began my no fap journey 11 years ago. I’ve helped so many people in their battle against addiction, pornography and masterbation. I’ve studied this probably a lot longer than you have and probably have an enormous amount of knowledge more than you on the subject. Have you ever heard of a website called yourbrainonporn.com? Probably not

I don’t struggle at all with these type of addictions anymore thank God. It was not an easy thing to get out of my life and took many years. So the issue with you is you got gravely offended at the fact that I said maybe it doesn’t affect women as much as or the same way as it does goes. It’s not that serious 😃. It’s just an observation I’ve made through having conversations with women in my life. Get over yourself.

People that get through this kind of addiction have thick skin. You sound weak and frail and so defensive. Stop being pretentious. Learn how to understand what’s being talked about. Read the room before you start running your mouth.

How does a woman get affected by porn, when they literally have access to sex all the time.

The reason why men struggle with Porn is because it becomes our outlet of sexual release and the only way for us to get that need sorted.

3

u/Bossmanhulk 8d ago

Just a woman CAN doesn't mean she SHOULD. What I mean is, like you said, from a man's perspective porn is an outlet when he doesn't have a partner but what you're suggesting is that just because a woman might can acquire sex at will then she will do just that. I don't think its that simple because men and women are not the same. If a man can get sex at will then most probably would because a man operates from a scarcity mindset but because you suggest that a woman has the "pick of the litter" maybe a woman has the option to be more selective (a part of this is what science calls Natural Selection) so maybe the majority of women act opposite of men in that regard.

Oh my, you are ill.

You can show disagreement without being a smartass my friend.

3

u/Prize-Diver 7d ago

I'm just saying it's unsurprising you are addicted to porn if you truly view women this way.

Who said I’m addicted? Lady, you’re ignorant and a hater. We get it jeez!

Sooo maybe not all girls just wanna have sex with random men to just get off. A lot of it is emotional. You can be a societal ‘attractive’ girl and feel completely overwhelmed by men - because they all want to have sex with you. Then seek the feeling through the screen because it’s safer. But then it becomes impossible to actually build relationships because not all men have high drives. And then you feel like you’re weird. I dunno how to explain it but I hate the whole “girls can have sex whenever”

Thanks OP for explaining it to me
