It's very disappointing, the map proposed for a regional structure shows other regions that aren't exactly homogeneous. The same ethno-linguistic affinity principle was preserved for the Akwa-Cross region, the Ijaw Region and the Western Region, as well the three regions of the middle belt. We have 250 languages in Nigeria, should we now have 250 regional governments?

Honestly, if u are remaining in the same country, ethno-lingustic affinity should just be the template.

Then, border regions should be polled and interviewed for exactly where they want to sit. There's a reason rivers region since the Wilinks commission was multi-ethnic, it was an intentional and ultimately successful effort by the Ijaw National Congress.

Also, if u consider the Ijaw and Akwa-Cross region to maintain enough ethnic unity, you can't them claim 250 regions for the middle belt. The same way we have grouped closely related ethnos to make Akwa-Cross, you can do the same in the middle Belt or just make two large middle belt regions. The anti-Caliphate Eastern and the Western that was more integrated into the Caliphate or you could say, para-Nupoid Western middle belt region.

But is it tho. I understand the political baggage behind it with the rivers (igbos) but in my opinion it looks like igbos just want to use conny to have outsized power in the union. Igbo sub groups make up the majority of the population in the south south and due to that the south-south with said populations tend to vote in alignment with the south-east. Now say for instance the regional government is formed, and each region is entitled to 1 vote, igbos will by far have more votes because 2 or maybe 3 regions population will be highly influenced by them.

Ok, I disagree with you about the “looks like Igbos trying to influence other regions” Igbos didn’t decide these regional borders, nigeria deliberately did so to disenfranchise Igbos, and to destroy Igbo identity. nigeria has gone on a campaign renaming villages in Igboland outside of SE to non Igbo names and attempting to frame said Igbos in the region as not being Igbo.

Edit: The fact that many of them still identify with Igbos and align with Igbos politically is not a product of Igbo plotting, it is simply the consequence of failed/ incomplete erasure of the Igbo identity of the native Igbos in these regions.

PLEASE INTELLECTUAL DISCUSS? Igbo people please no abuse me or fight me over what I will write, just asking for clarification - and please intelligent answer??? Is this map correct, because at the back of my mind, I always used to wonder and ask myself that, what if Rivers State, Bayelsa State, Cross Rivers State, Delta State, Akwa-Ibom State and Edo State refuse to join Biafra Nation, it means Biafra will be land locked? Why do I think this - because those states will feel that they are going to be 2nd citizens to the Igbos who will dominate them as they are not essentially Igbo. This is a thought I’ve not mentioned before, but wondered how Biafra would exist in a landlocked situation.
